Best hike ever! I'm glad you guys made it and had better weather than we did for the hike (flurries going up, but sun going down). Aren't the glacial lakes and red rocks stunning (or, a la Seinfeld, breathtaking).
weiner dogs I just put that title to catch your attention!
Awesome photos! I would love to be there too. You guys are definitely making us want to go to NZ. But where is Mr. Bluefrog? I am worried that something has eaten him. Love you guys and miss you...xo Shanny
Looks and sounds like an amazing adventure! You've confirmed my belief that New Zealand is a must-do at some point. This year it's Belize though (much better flying time with Kate!). Things here are great. Your house is standing and it's weird to see someone else there. No big news. We're all just enjoying the skiing and lack of shovelling as there hasn't been much snow. Huge thank you to Nancy for the gift - I really hope you return soon so I can redeem it! Looking forward to hearing about more great adventures.

Not a Baaad post there! Wow sounds nice! I had no idea the roads were so windy and twisty... they paved the cart path did they? That's how Haligonians describe their roads, but that's another story. My cuz went to NZ for 3 weeks and couldn't cover one of the islands.. can't member north or south but sounds like it's a much bigger place then the maps would make you think. Too bad about Peter there's always one person who rubs you the wrong way, but much like the waxy duck with the feathery... well don't let it bother you. You're in paradise!!! Fuggetaboutit!!!
Hope the weather stays 'fine' for you. It's icicle and slush season here, make the most of your time southside eh?
Also Canada just lost to the 'mericans in the Juniors tournament... ah well, great hockey anyway.
Don't miss the south island! Sounds like you guys are having a great time! Don't skip the Tongariro crossing or the South Island - I know how time flies when you are in NZ.

nice pics Enjoy NZ...fantastic place I think....South Island is very much like BC to my knowledge...perhaps if you go I can suggest that you take a look at one of the high up sheep farms, pretty cool life up there...love the pictures and commentary (laughed out loud at the hobbit door....which was actually filmed where you are going...ha). Brad Johnstone was a prop for the All Blacks...and is probably as wide as he is tall? Cheers,
Jon and Lisa
We're so envious!!! Sounds like you are loving it so far - we're deep in the midst of -20+ weather so enjoy... It's fun to travel vicariously through you, so thanks for sharing!
Namaste!
Fabulous Fiji! Loved the photos - looks like a wonderful start to your adventure. We await news of New Years in New Zealand.
Love and hugs to you both.
Jealous Hey Guys! Happy New Years!!
I've been waiting for an update and was excited this morning when you had posted new pics! Fiji sounds amazing!
Enjoy New Zealand and remember Abel Tasman National Park - top of South Island. Bee-you-tee-fullll! :)
Keep the updates coming - Kevin and I are with you in spirit!!!! We were in NZ for Xmas and New Years in 2006-07. While we missed family (we had been away from home for 4 months) we wouldn't trade the memories for anything!
So you know you're not missing anything, it continues to be cold here and there's still tons of snow. Probably not unlike when you left only 11 days ago!
Be safe and have fun.
Lynda
Happy Boxing Day! Hey guys!
Hope your travels have gone well and you had a lovely beachy Christmas day on a Fiji Beach! We were thinking of you both and missed your happy voices in our various family phone calls. We hope you had a nice boxing day, again, on a beach somewhere, or facedown looking at tropical fish on a reef.
Lots of love,
Julie, Tim, Calum and Alice.
p.s. Alice finally pooped on the potty today! 1st time!
Merry Christmas It is early Christmas eve and we are expecting a winter storm..just thought you should know what you are missing since you are in wonderful HEAT?
Merry Christmas you two.
Lynne
Mr Blue Frog not so blue anymore? Hey there Fraser!! Tell me - is Mr Blue Frog less blue now that he's out of the cold? How about you guys? Turning pink again?
Wow though this is a great trip you've got planned there, one might say Southern Hemispheragically Tropicoid.
Can't wait to hear how Phigi is!
Greg
Oh and hi Nancy, we haven't met but I hope you have a really awesome trip. Post pics!
Fiji Hey intrepid travellers, if you get the chance, check out Octopus Resort on Waya Island. Not fancy. Doesn't deserve the title "resort" but very interesting!! We're heading to the South Pacific in April - Polynesian Islands. I guess you'll be home by then.
Marilyn
Happy Travels! Hope you guys get off on a great foot and all your travels (especially over the next few days) go smoothly. We'll be thinking of you on Christmas day, lounging on a Fijian beach...bums!
Come on, roll in it!! Okay, you have to post a photo of you rolling in the snow in your bikini now, for posterity. Have an aweseome time!!! I look forward to followig your adventure.
