Hey guys, This weekend we had arranged to spend an extended weekend in Munich celebrating one of the biggest festivals in the world - My Birthday, i mean, Oktoberfest. However prior to setting foot in the festival grounds, we had planned to find a pub which was showing the AFL Grand Final. Whilst this was difficult to find, we managed to locate one in town via a web search. It was due to kick off at 5am... Somehow we all managed to press the snooze button enough times to sleep through the game. Oh well we were taping it on Sky back in London. Surely we could get through 4 days in a foreign country without knowing the score. After switching from Hostel to Hotel that morning we all made our way to the Oktoberfest grounds. ... read more

Good news, i had a trip without much drama We flew into Geneva on the friday night and had accommodation organised (and honoured). We got up early the next morning and explored the city and the area around Lake Geneva. The lake is frinken huge and has a fountain which shoots water upwards with a speed of up to 200km/hr. Its amazing to think that a 'lake' can be 310m in depth. Geneva has numerous international organisations, including the European headquarters of the United Nations. Like true tourists, we visited it and took the tour. I was surprised when the tour guide said that we should stay close together because security doesn't work on the weekends. That made me feel so much safer. The UN was founded after World War 2 by the victorious allied powers ... read more

Hi, August was to be a big month for me in terms of travel as i had trips planned to Paris, Spain and Switzerland. 2 down and one to go... We caught the Eurostar from London Waterloo thinking that this would be the most efficient and comfortable journey to Paris, as i had done this relatively short journey a few years back. Unfortunately, the train that departed before us was faulty and held up all the other trains on the line. This resulted in the journey which was meant to take 2 and a half hours turn into a 4 and a half hour marathon and had us stressing about whether we would make it in time to the Moulin Rouge which we had booked prior to leaving. We eventually arrived and checked into our hotel, ... read more

'Morning Richie, Morning All, Sorry i'm late...' Not good enough, i know its been a while but there has been to much soccer on tv... Not a great deal of travel has been done over the past couple of months but we spent Spring Bank Holiday in the beautiful city of Prague. Having left on the Friday night and arriving by 10pm, this left us with some solid drinking hours, and that is exactly what we did. Alcohol is extremely cheap in the Czech Republic especially when you are earning the pound. It seemed that many others had the same idea for the long weekend as the streets were flooded with Stag Groups and very few Hens Nights (boo hoo). I've heard great things about the Eastern European chicks but unfortunately there were not many out, ... read more

Greetings all, I know it has been a long time between drinks and the emails have been few and far between but i have written a bumper edition which will sure to have you working overtime to read the entire thing... I will start by saying that my health has improved 100% and there have been no further ‘incidents’ with my soup bowl and have done plenty of travel in and out of London... The last month or so has been very hectic at work and I had been continuously under the pump with report writing. Our manager is very similar to PB in terms of achieveing monthly stats, especially within the required time frames. Gee I thought i had escaped that. This is resulting in extremely long work weeks. Whilst this is not a bad ... read more

Hi all... Well i have now settled down in London and what a dramatic few weeks it has been... We moved into our new apartment and as a result of not having any heating for the first 4 days we all got sick. I had to take a day off work coz i was in such a bad way. The worst thing about being sick (as a contractor) is that you don't get paid! And being my first week in the job (and the apartment) really needed the money to flow in. In addition to the flu, my wisdom tooth had made its move. It hurt sooo much! I looked like Professor Klump from the Nutty Professor. As for the job itself, well, i think i mentioned in my last email that i was offered a ... read more

Greetings one and all, hope you have all been well. Things here have been rather slow. We have however done a number of day trips, which haven't been that riveting, but have been educational. First trip was to Greenwich (pronounced Gren-itch) which is a quiet little town, kind of reminds me of Notting Hill with its terraced housing, zero setback and beautiful bay windows. It is on the opposite side of the Thames River to where we are located, and took about 20 minutes to walk to. It is known as the site of the, now disused, Millennium Dome and also Cutty Sark Maritime Ship. But most notably Greenwich is where the prime meredian of the world is located and where the term Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is derived. Melbourne happens to be GMT +10:00 (but ... read more

"Hi everybody", I hope all is well. I'll pick up where i left off... Having left off in Chicago we flew back to LA for a stopover on our way to the beautiful islands of Hawaii. As we diembarked the plane we were instantly hit by the humidity. This was a welcomed change in climate having had the past 5 or so weeks in near freezing tempretures. We settled in to our room at Waikiki and popped down to supermarket for a six pack. The weather was just right for drinking. I suppose Waikiki to Hawaii is the equivalent of Surfers Paradise to Australia. Tourism is the economic mainstay. It is renowned for its (crowded) beach, longboard surfers, high rise buildings, tourist attractions, shopping malls and bright lights. We thought it would only be right to ... read more

G'day guys, fill your coffe mugs coz this is a bumper edition. Sorry if they are extremely long but i am trying to keep them as entertaining as possible... I know it has been a while between drinks, but i am having way too much fun. Well, we left off in the early days of New York. Baz and I had arranged tickets to see the David Lettermen show the day before the girls arrived. Unfortunately for them (fortunate for us) they were unable to get tickets to the show, and this being the last recording for the year, were quite disappointed, but we weren't about to surrender our tickets. The show was great. The main celebrity fetured Jamie Fox (actor/musician/comedian). He starred in Any Given Sunday, Collateral and Ray. He was a very funny man ... read more

I think the last time I emailed we had arrived in San Fran... Well, we hired some mountain bikes at Fishermans Wharf and trekked over the Golden Gate and up to the lookout, that was a decent view looking over the bridge, city and alcatraz. After 4 solid hours of riding, we rode back to town and after chaining our bikes up to a parking meter, we went into a camera shop. Five minutes later we walked out and there were 3 'homeboys' dismantling our bikes... One of them already had the seat off my bike and wasn't far from taking the front wheel. I screamed oi! What the heck (i actually used a more uncouth word) are you doing? I think his reply was 'we were just looking at your bike seat.' They dropped everything ... read more
