Hartleys Crocodile Farm Northern Australia has lots and lots of crocodiles that live in the river and the creeks and even the sea. When we arrived in Cairns there were lots of warnings telling us not to swim in the sea as there were crocodiles just waiting in the water to eat you. Can you imagine that at Nairn Beach? We decided to explore and learn a bit more about them by going to a crocodile center. We set off to Hartleys Crocodile Farm about an hour away from our hotel. It was very hot today at about 38 degrees. Hartleys is an amazing place with a huge big lagoon surrounded by tropical jungle everywhere. The main part of the visit is a long boat ride through the swampy lagoon where you see all the crocodiles ... read more

Cyclone heading our way Mum is a bit worried today as in the newspapers there is a cyclone warning that one of the biggest cyclones ever is heading right towards us. It should be here in 3 days. She has said that we are not to worry as the cyclone will most likely change its path and not hit us at all in Cairns. We were just to monitor the weather reports. Australia gets lots of cyclones and difficult weather conditions. Recently there was an area the size of France and Germany flooded on the east coast where lots of people died and thousands of people lost their homes because of the floods. Some of the flood waters reached 6 meters high. That is about the height of 3 Mr Cains Hurricane Larry happened in the ... read more

We flew up to Cairns from Sydney a few days ago. The flight was about 3 hours which is about the same as flying from London to Kingussie three times. We have been relaxing and swimming a lot in our hotel. It has great slide and I have met lots of nice children to play with. Cairns is very very hot and sunny with a tropical climate. There are lots and lots of insects and other wild beasts. On our first night we saw lots of spiders and cockroaches, a Kangaroo jumped out of the bush in front of us and there was a big warning not to swim in the sea or the crocodiles would eat you. Sydney is a great place to have a girlie day. Me and mum decided that we had to go shopping and then a trip to the sky tower and then the cinema would be in order. First we started shopping. the best shops are along a street called George Street. There are also lots and lots of Shopping malls. We discovered a great store in one of the malls called Myer, which is a bit like Debenhams. Mum got me a new dress and some new silver shoes. There are lots and lots of shops in Sydney but the worst thing is that it is so hot that you dont actually feel like shopping. We had to stop lots for ice cream! After shopping we went up the Sydney sky tower. Here you get to walk ... read more

There is not too much of a time difference between Australia and Hong Kong. Depending on where in Australia it is about 5 hours behind. We flew through the day on another 747 plane into Sydney. Sydney is not the capital of Australia, Canberra is. Sydney is in New South Wales. This is located at the bottom right hand side of the map of Australia. Most people think that Sydney is the capital as it has 4.5 million people living there and is the most popular place to live. When we arrived in Sydney the temperature was 23 degrees at midnight. There was a sick man on our flight so it took a while to get off the plane. We got a taxi to our hotel which was in a famous place called Darling Harbour. It ... read more

After being in Hong Kong for a few days we were getting to know the underground and where to go. There were many exciting things to do but my favourite two were Disneyland and Ocean Park To get to Disney we had to change trains 4 times and then we got on a Micky Mouse train at a place called Sunny Bay that took us all the way to Disney. The windows were shaped like Micky’s ears and there were statues of famous Disney characters all over the train. It made me really excited. Hong Kong Disney is just like the Disney land that we went to in Paris but quite a lot smaller and we could easily do everything in 1 day. The best thing that we went on was Space Mountain roller coaster. It ... read more

To get to Hong Kong we took the Tube again out to London Heathrow Airport and went to Terminal 5. This is the new British Airways terminal where we would get the flight to Hong Kong. It was a very long squishy train ride. At the airport we had to go through passport control and security. You are not allowed to take anything in big bottles and they make you throw your juice in the bin. This is just in case you are carrying something that you should not be. Like a bomb. We were flying in a big Boeing 74. This plane carried over 300 passengers. It took us nearly 12 hours to get there and we flew through the night. Mum said that I slept for 7 hours. I also watched 2 movies, Megamind ... read more

Me and my mum decided that the best way to start our Journey would be to take the sleeper train to London from Kingussie. London is where we had to get the aeroplane and mum said there would be lots of exciting things to do in London. I really liked the sleeper train. The room was very small and it had bunk beds. Mum said that I had to get into my pyjamas and go to bed on the top bunk. All night I kept waking up when the train kept stopping. I thought I was going to fall out onto the floor. Eventually we arrived at Euston Station in London. London is the capital city of England and home to things like The Queen, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament (that Guy Faulkes tried to ... read more
