9/2/09 = Rain = chill out day. Lovely, lovely sleep. Woke up for toilet at 7:30 and could see Deb awake, but had to ignore her, because already decided to try and go back to sleep. Scuttled off to toilet with eyes closed and scuttled back and into bed. Drifted straight back off and slept on off for hours then. Could hear was raining outside, so just made me sleep all the more. 8/2/09 = Cape Reinga, Sand Boarding & 90mile beach Woke up to the sound of Debs' paniced voice today. Were supposed to get up at 6am to be ready for 7am pick up, but alarm hadn't gone off and was 6:40...oh no! Tried to creep round room quietly to not wake other girls, but is really hard to be quiet when rushing so much...especially when have all belongings in seperate plastic bags. 7/2/09 = Waitangi Treaty Culture Show Alarm went off at 6am and is fair to say that I wasn't exactly spritely at getting out of bed. Rolled around for a little while, then forced self up and into shower...shower magic cure for sleepiness. Sure enough, felt much better after it. Had museli breakfast, packed up all belongings, made packed lunch for journey, then went outside to wait on road at 7:15 for a 7:20 pick up. 6/2/09 = A chilled day in Auckland Had a great lay in today and finally made myself get up at 9. The magic of sleeping in a normal, single bed …:) Got showered, dressed and had breakfast. Nipped out to get a phonecard from local shop and really mad to find that $10 card only got a 12min phonecall home = rubbish. In Oz, $10 = 1hr1/2…how can $12 be right. 4/2/09 = Arriving in NZ Had an 8 hour sleep, but when alarm went off, still absolutely shattered...excited though. New Zealand...yeh! Scrabbled out of bed in darkness, grabbed washbag and clothes laid out night before and trudged off to bathroom with eyes still closed. Not impressed to find body lotion leaked all over washbag! Got all things together then and went out into half dark/half light of morning. Roads were completely clear, so walk to train was quicker and easier (albeit still agonising with 20kg bag!) 2/2/09 = Goodbyes...hopefully. Woke up at 1am and just couldn't understand what had happened. Looked down at myself fully clothed and half under a blanket and was a little bewildered. Took a few minutes, then the 7:30 snooze came back to me. Wondered what happened about Gem ringing, but then rolled over and back to sleep. When woke up properly at 6am, repeated whole process again. *WARNING: Very long blog entry coming now* 30/1/09 = Setting sail on the Apollo Not really a good nights sleep and woke up at 6am to start getting ready for trip. Didn't have to leave until 8, but 9 girls sharing a room with 1 shower...didn't fancy my chances! I got a v.sleep shower and Hat got up early aswell to pack. 29/1/09 = Rain in Airlie Absolutely awful nights sleep...if you can even call it sleep. Hate overnight buses! Woke up at 6am as arrived into a grey and rainy Airlie Beach. Clambered off bus, then driver dumped us and our bags in rain and drove off back towards sunshine. We all stood in a big, rainy group, until 1 by 1, people started to get picked up by mini-buses. This happened for 10mins, until eventually only people left were me, Hat, Deb and Rich (Dingo man). 27/1/09 = A quiet arrival in Agnes Water Great sleep, but up early because went to bed so early. Dozed for a while, then got up at 7. Did the usual morning things; washed, breakfast, put clothes through wash (splashed out on a machine wash), packed bags up and checked out at 10. Did have a bit of a luxurious breakfast this morning though = paw paw. V.nice. Obviously didn't have just that...I am still me! Had it as a mini breakfast after my big bowl of cereal. 25/01/09 = Beautiful Sights, Terrible Hangover Ohhhh nooooo. Ohhhh noooo. Never drink again! Must never drink again! Woke up totally disorientated and feeling absolutely rubbish! Had already got up at 4am for toilet (good job Marlin came with me, because was once again going to take dingos on on my own...idiot!), but when woke up again at 6am, definitely feeling worse!
