whew... Damn Nate! You squeezed in A LOT! That's dope. I've always wanted to go back there, T and are were only there for a day and it was so cold, we ended up seeing the "sights" while driving! I've always felt I was a pretty good driver, but now that I've actually driven around NY especially in Tines Square I can probably be a cab driver if I ever moved there! Nice blog - great flicks.
the big city loves you! hey nate...i finally got some time to look and read your blog...you really did a lot while you were here...you are much better at time management than us new yorkers...i love the photos...you got some really awesome ones...it makes me realize all the beautiful things that we have that we overlook because of being in a rush...or just take for granted...thanks for putting it in perspective...neomi
Capturing the spirit of a city Nathan, your travel articles and pictures keeps getting better and better. From your opening paragraph on, you allow the reader to visit the city by your side, experiencing life in the crowded streets, peaceful park and numerous museums or attractions. It's an excellent guided tour and the pictures are wonderful. I especially like the night photos and detail shots throughout the city. Marvelous.
Thanks for sharing!
Great pics Okay, so now this is another destination spot I absolutely need to visit before I die. I love the sunset view from the balcony. You should sell these pics to the resort you stayed at! :D
Next time Next time you are as close as Tulsa let me know if you have the time for me to run up and see you. All is fine in the King-Cain family and the same (that's Bartlesville for you.) I will follow your travels and see some of the world through your eyes. Take care of yourself. With love.
You tourist Looks remarkably similar to the few days I spent Seattle last month. Your pictures are much better than mine tho...hmmm, i may steal them and pass them off as my own. Later cuz
The Ice Man Cometh Dude. C'mon. An adventure that might actually top your other adventures? Sheesh! Hiking on/through a glacier? That is just freakin' awesome. The crevasses would be enough to send me back the other way and I don't know what possessed you to "jump" over them (with the possible exception that not jumping would mean you'd fall.) Amazing pictures. Just spectacular.
Love the Ace of Bone necklace! It suits you well.
WEeeeeeEEW Another great adventure! Loved the Zorb balls and that sure sounds like fun. It is impressive the amount of hiking you do and the trip up Mt. Doom must have been fun for you. Great scenery, gorgeous emerald lakes, watefalls....damn.
As always- love your stories and pics!
Adventure in Glowworms Nathan, your adventures keep getting better and better. Just how much fun did you have in New Zealand anyway? Crawling around in caves, hiking, taking great pictures and shearing the bunnies....I mean, c'mon! Way too much fun. Great pictures. Loved the Hahei Beach shot!
Magic Bus Nathan, your writing skills are clearly evident in this blog. Wonderful descriptions and, again, it's just like being there.
I mean, c'mon, am I the only person who thinks this? Are there any other readers out there that feel the same? Your blogs are always a terrific read, accompanied by excellent photographs. Seriously, I would imagine any travel magazine snapping up your blogs to benefit their readers.
Looking forward to the next installment!
Aquarium Thunder Dome It's good to see you've made it to Melbourne. Hey, thanks for the tip on the pronounciation. Never knew that before. Kinda like how they pronounce Edinburgh, Scotland (Edinborough.)
Sounds like you were right at home staying with Darcy. Full house, lots of activities, good times and people. Sweet! I'm sure you had a blast and the sights you saw were nice. Excellent story and it was another fun adventure tagging along with you, even if only vicariously. Glad you finally settled the age-old-question: Sydney vs. Melbourne. Now we know.
Have a great time in NZ.
Dingo was his Name-o Okay, how many slices of paradise are you visting? It seems each destination overshadows the other. You're right, the beaches and waters are stunning. I think it would be hard to leave such a pristine place but it's cool you got to visit. I bet the spiders made you relive childhood, eh? Ick. Cool to see a true Dingo and I'm glad you didn't get carried off like some chunk of meat. Whew. Thanks for sharing the great stories and pictures! Keep 'em coming!
>>> I feel like im being advertised on the other side of the world!!
Oh yer, and kevin scared the shit outa me, i realised on my last day at the hostel that he was trying to...(to put it softly) shag me. I't wasnt a coincidence that i left that day.
Free apple pie at cannon street for life!!
Actually Actually, went to the Doctor twice, and he said they weren't. It was some allergic reaction, cause it lasted for 2 weeks, but finally going away now. Thanks though, I thought of that as well.
Scuba Duby Doo CONGRATULATIONS!!! We all knew you were certifiable but congratulations is still in order. :) Yet another amazing adventure in your long line of adventures. I'm sure you'll never forget this one and it's probably a far cry from any zoooos dvds you were doing last year. Love the photos and videos and I give you credit for diving in the world famous Great Barrier Reef. I'm so glad you didn't see any great white sharks and you managed to stay a safe distance from the stingray. Whew. And night diving? Oh mercy. You're a brave soul. I like your new interest in underwater photography. I'm gonna look up a photographer you'd be interested in seeing. Keep having fun, be safe and keep up the great blog!
Should've Checked out Nacho Daddy's First off-great journal, I got back from CR at the end of February, and your descriptions took me back again. If you ever go back to Jaco, venture farther down the "Strip" (how the hell do they expect us to find places if there are no street signs?), past the Monkey (train-wrecking DJ'z play old school hip-hop) and Beatle (Ugly American) bars, and check out Nacho Daddy's. It's at the rear end of that new shopping mall marked by a fountain and Tsunami Sushi on the second floor. House music (not bad), some dancehall/reggae, and mostly hipsters from Europe and USA, as well as locals who drop in after work. The first time I was there it was packed with cool people ready to chat and party all night, the second time was less so, but I chalked it up to new promoters with an unproven DJ lineup. My buddy and I hooked up with everything we needed for the night, and met some fun local people too. If you venture down to Quepos and Manuel Antonio, check out Arches Iris, big warehouse party club, some house music, lots of happy folks.
Totally worth being homeless I am so jealous of you! This looks like such an amazing time... and here I am the lame one, living it through your pictures... someday I will do something crazy like you and then probably end up homeless! But seeing the pictures, totally worth it! So I have company in June, and possibly in August, but July looks good or sometime in August. Fishing is better in July though. Bring a friend... I'd love to do some sea kayaking or a backpacking trip. Glad I bought some bear spray this year! Your blog is wonderful and even though I feel like i am there (and learning!) I still want to go :) Are you going to end up with a g.f. out of this? Bonnie
The Grand Adventure As always, your latest blog entry is fantastic. What an amazing adventure you are experiencing. The tour sounds perfect. Great sites, good friends and terrific memories. Your great pictures compliment a wonderful story and one certainly feels like they had a chance to experience the sunsets, sunrises, mountains and, ick, even the flies. I wish I could find the videos for this trip as I'm sure they are hilarious. Your stories are better than most travel books, as you provide great details, humor and nuances only related through experience. You should gather these up, package them and make a living at it. You've got talent.
Keep having fun.
Mike
I'm an amateur photographer who has devoted the past year to become a full time professional photographer. For the past 8 years, I've worked in the DVD business as a Programmer and Producer. Hoping to escape the crazy, stressful life of the Hollywood industry, I decided I needed a change. So I quit my job, tied up my loose ends, and was off on some eye opening and memorable 2007 vacations. While traveling around, I continue to take as many photos as possible in hopes that they will someday fill my portfolio and supply me with future jobs. But while I travel, I also want to experience an... full info
