Route : Bangalore - NH7 - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Dharmapuri - Salem - Dhindikul - Kodai. Left Bangalore around 3 pm. Stayed overnight at Dhindikul as it got late and wanted to avoid the ghat section to kodai in the night. Recommend to stay away from the main Kodai town to interact better with nature !! Route taken: Bangalore - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Thirunamallai- Tindivanam - Pondicherry. Bangalore via ORR + Sarjapur road - NH7 NH7- Hosur - Krishnagiri (Good road, 2 Tolls applicable Rs 20, Rs 50). After a 1 Km after the Krishnagiri toll, take left (sign board saying Chennai) After 500 m, take a right (sign board saying Pondicherry) onto the Pudicherry road. This is a real bad stretch (probably a post monsoon effect). Takes approx. 2 hours to get to Thirunamallai. Wish there was an alternative but it will take very long then. Thirunamallai - Tindivanam (better road) Road leading to Pondicherry from Tindivinam is very good. Totally 6.5 - 7 hours drive. Hotel : The Retreat.
