Route taken:
Bangalore - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Thirunamallai- Tindivanam - Pondicherry.
Bangalore via ORR + Sarjapur road - NH7
NH7- Hosur - Krishnagiri (Good road, 2 Tolls applicable Rs 20, Rs 50).
After a 1 Km after the Krishnagiri toll, take left (sign board saying Chennai)
After 500 m, take a right (sign board saying Pondicherry) onto the Pudicherry road. This is a real bad stretch (probably a post monsoon effect). Takes approx. 2 hours to get to Thirunamallai. Wish there was an alternative but it will take very long then.
Thirunamallai - Tindivanam (better road)
Road leading to Pondicherry from Tindivinam is very good.
Totally 6.5 - 7 hours drive.
Hotel : The Retreat. Recommend this to those who wish to stay in the French colony, bang on the beach.
