High in Colorado Great blog....enjoyed reading your adventure in Colorado and look forward to your stay in Wyoming. Makes us envious of your lifestyle as full-time RVers.
It was so great to meet you guys. Hopefully we can meet again sometime.
New Mexico Hi Karen and Tom,
Pictures are beautiful. The picture of the lizard reminded me when I was a kid. Lizards and grasshoppers were what we saw when we went outside to play. The lizards would shed their tails and you would see tails all over the ground. Funny that I haven't thought about that in decades. Enjoy your travels-- I love to see the pictures.
Send Pickleball Players No wonder we can't get enough players here at Whitney TT--they're all in AZ! But, since Stan & Ellen got back last week, it has gotten better. We played a few times, including this weekend. Tell Toni & Kathy we miss them. Enjoyed your blog. Good luck w/your new computer software.
Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring you good health and more good times!
Beautiful Hi Karen and Tom, The pictures are just breath taking---they look like picture post cards. Makes me homesick. The ATVing sure looks like fun!!! I am glad to hear that you both have a clean bill of health. I wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed Healthy New Year!!!
Sedona... wonderful place Hi,
We have visited Sedona twice.. leave our MH back on our lot in Salome and stay two nights at the Kokopelli Inn in Oak Creek area. Beautiful area to see. The Red Rock State Park is great, but it's one that is closed down currently. Jerome is a fun trip too.. well, everywhere. We flew back home from Phoenix Nov. 22... will fly out of Port. on Jan. 22nd to New Zealand for a two week land tour and then back to Phoenix and Salome for downtime till it's time to come back to The Dalles and spray season, bees, blossoms and eventually harvest. Enjoy your AZ time... and of course you know that Utah has great places to see, but better in late summer/fall. Good that you foot has healed.
We did the coast from california to oregon and I wish you would have too. We did 101 all the way from San Francisco to Seaside. No problem. It was absolutely beautiful. We did not go through the middle so you may have had wonderful scenery also. Maybe you can try it again sometime. And, Alan said to tell Tom there were no fake construction zones.
Heading For Your Winter Den? Hello Country Cousins,
Thanks for your update. You stayed cool this summer in Oregon while I roasted. Good for you. Sue was very comfortable with Ohio's twenty 90+ degree days this summer. But the temperature tables turned quickly. The last three weeks have been cool, rainy and typical Ohio fall weather. You remember what that is all about. Karen, how is your foot healing? Tom,
have you voted early and often? Hey, you could vote in every state as you drive to California. Do you plan on spending this winter in Palm Springs? We hope you are well and happy. Give Princess a hug from Baxter. Love, D&S
Your trip sounds wonderful. Great photos. How did you break your leg? yikes.
We're still at Snowflower. We were going to go back to Verde Valley, but its still too hot.
Have a wonderful trip. Ed and Sandra
Football Hi Karen...first can I send you a birthday card at you PO box that I have? 2nd you sent me too much $$ for Football...the total for the whole year and the 4 extra games is $105..so $15 will be coming your way...I think I will wait until YOU WIN to send anything back, if that is OK with you......
Hope all is well...were you both are look very pretty...work is well work...enough said. and I am getting really tired of going there....
love to you both and please be safe...ps how is you foot?
Bernie
Cool Summer Sorry about your injury, but maybe it will give you a needed break. Glad that you and Tom have enjoyed a cool summer up in the NW. Maybe Dave and I will get out that way on a future trip. Newport and Whaler's Rest sound like great places to visit. Thanks again for sharing your pics!
Happy Hour Doesn't Wait For Anyone Karen,
Sorry to learn about your injury. We hope that you heal quickly. If you had fallen after happy hour you would not have hurt yourself. You would have been relaxed and less prone to injury. I drink Jack Daniels for a reason. Not for inebriation but to prevent snake bites. It works too! I have not been bitten by a snake in 48 years. So staying inebriated keeps you healthy. We wish you, Tom and Princess safe travel as you continue to explore our beautiful country. Give Tom and Princess hugs from us. Stay in touch. Vaya con Dios, Your Country Cousins
Green Tomatoes You are always so upbeat! Thanks for perking me up. Keep that extra stair handy for your motorhome at all times. Wish I had a garden this summer!
What a pain I am sorry to hear you broke your foot. Those stair wells in motor homes need more work. Princess I am sure would prefer to have you wait upon her... she has you trained and who knows if Tom will be trained by the time your foot has healed!
I've ended up twice down in them when I wasn't even headed in that direction. One of my last mistakes was to put on their warm fleece socks to keep my toes toasty and they are slippery. One time the door was open and just luckily I managed to catch a hold of the handle and swing around outside... no, we weren't moving at that time, just me.
I am sure this year is a green tomato summer. I have oodles of them just sunning themselves daily (East of the Cascades of course) but not maturing very fast. We will probably have a frost before that happens.
Great summer Looks like you had a terrific summer. Will you be heading back to Verde Valley this fall? We'll be there in October.
Spent the summer in Snowflower. Ed taught lots of people pickleball.
Great Photos! Thanks for sharing your experiences & pics. Glad you're enjoying your travels along the Oregon coast. Look forward to your updates.
Had any pickleball opportunities? I got to play w/Ellen Dyer (comes to Whitney for the winter) up in Lyons, CO, the week before last. She's organized a group that gets together for games 2-3 times a week. It felt good, but I was a little sore afterwards, since it had been a few months.
Great Pics Karen, and Tom, Thank you for contiuing to share your wonderful oddesy. I really enjoy all of the pics and conmmentary. What a great way to see the USA... Tale care.
looks familiar Glad you are enjoying the coast; it's great to see the pics of places we've been to and enjoyed. Yes, you have the best temps. We can't stand this heat; 100 today with a higher heat index. Actually I felt chilly this morning when I went out- probably only in the 80s. We leave Monday so we're hoping for cooler weather somewhere. Safe travels. Sandy
Hello again I've been reading your blogs ever since we met in NJ. We had the three Yorkshier Terriers. Anyway, I went back on active duty for the Air National Guard, and currently am stationed in Wash DC. I was promoted to Major in February. If I can hang on for 7 more years, I will get full retirement. Anyway, keep in touch, and let me know the places that I don't want to visit, or waste my time at. If you ever get out this way again, let us know. Paul and Janet
Blog Thank you. We like your blog & the news of what you are doing. Enjoy the great NW-we love it up there in the summers, especially the coast. Our National Parks are fantastic- love your pix.
We just got to Champion, OH yesterday. A place called Roaring Run Resort-ROD. Pretty place. We will go into Hershey TT WE IF the park is open after the damage from the tornado that went through last week is taken care of. If not, on to VT a bit earlier. We have luckily missed all the really bad weather on our travel east.
Big Hugs, Bruce & Cheryl
We became full-time RV'ers when I retired March 1, 2006. We started on the East coast of the U.S. and arrived on the West coast in 2009. We are traveling the U.S. to sights we've never seen before! Adventure-bound to National Parks. and beaches with stop-offs to visit friends and family. ... full info
