After China I'm giving myself about a year in China so I can save some more money and travel this amazing country. It's all still up in the air on where I'm going after but it's looking like I'm going to leave China going through Tibet, into Nepal and then into India, BUT plans could change. I'm looking at going to Japan for a while to work also but not sure yet. As I said it's still all up in the air. I'll keep you in the loop for sure.
All those pics are awesome shayne but you are right,,the streets look empty. Sounds like you are truly enjoying yourself and meeting so many people,,Im glad you will be starting work soon so you can make new plans for your next adventure on your journey. As for being nerve wracking at the thought of going to work,,YOU LIVED AND WORKED WITH LIVE TIGERS,,that would be nerve wracking,,give your head a shake big guy,,lol,,lol,,love ya ,,mom
no language it can be allot of fun at times but that was a little nerve wrecking. I love having fun with the guys who come up trying to sell you books. They speak to you in English and you answer them back in another language pretending you don't speak English. They just look dumb founded.
hahaha... don't you love it when no one speaks English. That is when you have most fun, well, actually, at the time might not be so fun, but after a little while, makes awesome stories!
Thanks Bro Thanks Bro. It's a shame we didn't get a chance to get to know each other better before I left. It's looking like I'm going to be over here for a while. I wish I could make it this summer to your wedding. All the best and enjoy that amazing little family you have going.
Love ya
PS. I don't have access to facebook while in China so send me an email form time to time to give me an update on how things are going your way.

Signature Book Never second guess yourself, this dream of yours has to be fullfilled. Fear of the unknown is natural but not following your dream and your goals is not natural for you. As much as I worry about you going I know in my heart you will be fine. You have worked hard at making all this happen and all you have to do now is get on the plane. As for your signature books,I think I would take one of them, just so you have a part of family and friends with you to cheer you up on those down days. Take one that really makes you laugh and smile. Those books are some of your prize possessions and have helped make you who you are and I think you NEED to have a part of that with you on your travels. Talk to you soon. Love ya
First of all I'm glad you made it back alright and it sounds like you had an amazing time down in Rwanda. I've only had a couple minutes to have a quick glance over your Blog. I'm sure you understand coming down to the final days before I start the biggest trip of my life.
Thanks again for the amazing words of encouragement, coming from someone who is as diverse in travel as you are. It honestly makes me wonder why more people don't get out there and realize just how lucky they are to call themselves a Canadian. As for my "AUTOGRAPH BOOKS" as you put it. One of the main reasons why I was going to bring them is because I'm expecting at some point in my travels I'm going to get depressed and very lonely. I've done it in the past where when I do I pull out one of my books and read it over and instantly my mood changes.
I hope you don't mind but I added a link to your blog on my blog. I look forward to reading up on what you have in the making. What is your next destination?
It Takes Courage to Truly Live Hey Archie,
I just arrived back into Calgary from Rwanda. Before leaving, I asked myself "What are you doing?" at least a thousand times. It takes a lot of courage to follow your dreams. And now that I am back, I can suggest to you that you are on the right track with finding your purpose and realizing what makes you tick. Go and explore with the ignorance and excitement of a 5-year old. Canada is the greatest country in the world to live in and to be from. But there's nothing like finding your way into new lands, meeting new people, and experiencing why we Canadians are so lucky.
On the signature books: leave them at home and start new ones on the road. If you really need to see them, photocopy a few pages to bring with you to show people what you are doing when asking for their signature. This concept will make a great personal documentary one day.
Safe travels!
PS: You can read a little about my trip here: http://redtvcanada.blogspot.com
drive and determination that's all it takes. the only limitations people have are the ones they set themselves. I told myself last year that if Mexico didn't work then I would continue on with my dream and that's all I'm doing. ANybody can do what I'm doing if they really want to.
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON I cant believe the time has went so fast. When you had to postpone this adventure last october I wasnt sure if you were going to be able to make all the arrangements so fast,,,,you always do what you say you are going to do,,Im proud of you,,As you know Im not crazy about you going,,Ill worry all the time that you are over there but I am excited for you at the same time,,its an experience in a lfe time,,,or as you say,,"to experience life is to make life an experience". I LOVE YA,,,,,MOM
The Traveling Canadian
Quitting, whether a job or a habit means taking a turn so as to be sure you’re still moving in the direction of your dreams. In this way, quitting a job to go vagabonding should never be seen as the need of something grudging and unpleasant. Rather it’s a vital step in the beginning something new and wonderful.
What you've done becomes the judge of what you're going to do - especially in other people's minds. When you're traveling, you are what you are right there and then. ... full info
