Thank you Your blog was very interesting and extremely helpful. I am leaving for Brazil in less than 2 weeks and because of your blog I am back to square one in regards to planning! :) Kidding but I did add a couple more stops to my trip! Ilhabella here I come! Thanks again!
How safe?? Just read your story on meat beer and crime and was lured in by the favella photo.
I am traveling to Bahia with my 11 year old daughter ( we are both photographers) and plan to do some shooting in Itacare Barra Grande and Morro de Sao Paulo while there.
How safe would you say it is to do any photographs in this region.
Your feedback would be very much appreciated...
Ken..
When you get the deed to that castle, give me a call, and I'll ensure it's outfitted with crossbows, cannons, buckets of hot oil and all the trimmings. And I'll throw in a rocket launcher for good measure.
That way you can focus on outfitting it with bikini-clad Brazilian babes.
Your consolation prize was that you guys made it up and back without serious incident. We can never take these "safe trips" for granted, especially with the Taliban, the Christian Coalition and Walt Disney trying to steal our souls!
Karaoke competition? Morgan, you're getting soft. I'll bet you even sung in falsetto.
What, are you going to shave your legs and join the cabaret when you get home?
I'll join you!
awesome you lucky bastardo! all that ice, ablation... though i was surprised not to see any penitentes. maybe just not high up enough... anyway that looked like an awesome chapter in your story. Mark is coming back early may!!! just thought i'd let you know, gonna try to greet him at the aeropuerto.
I am so jealous! I loved Perito Moreno! I am so jealous and wish I could go again! Are you going to Ushuaia? Do you know when you're coming back? It looks like you're having a blast! Hopefully we'll see you when you make it back!
Your "jumping for joy" picture is so fantastically gay it should go on a postcard. Heck, if you've got a good enough picture we should print and frame the darn thing. I love it! *winks*
ahh....cool! super cool. i wish i was there! jason and i recently got back from a uni tour of Vietnam, which was pretty fun, but seems to pale in comparison to your great adventures.
Are you guys sure you didn't stumble into Austria? That's some beautiful countryside... and you've got a cute pack mule with you there, too! ;)
That rocky descent reminds me of the time we did Nutcracker at Yosemite... got lost on the descent and ended up sliding down a gully of loose rock, triggering mini-landslides all the way down. Good thing we didn't have a heavy pack then! Hah!
I finally got my postcard from you, woo hoo! Thanks. Looking forward to your return. We miss you here, buddy!
Bling bling! Holla for a Paraguayan dolla!
Now I can tell all my friends I know a millionaire, and you can boast about dropping a million on your vacation.
Thanks for the more frequent updates...
Remind me not to go to the beach with you, at least for a while, after you get back! It is freezing and rainy in Santa Cruz, I know you're jealous and miss it!
Awhile back I decided to tempt my fate and head to South America for a year. After quitting my job I jumped on a plane and found myself in an unfamiliar land with an unfamiliar language. Here are a few of my experiences from the beaches of Brazil to the mountains of Argentina to the grassy plains of Paraguay. I hope my pictures and stories inspire those longing to get away from the familiar life and wish to explore the vast possibilities this world has to offer. If ever you have a question on traveling abroad or about specific places I have written about feel free to send me a message. Enjoy ... full info
