Friday 18TH July Leaving on a jet plane Well ok technically we left home at 2230 (after we were delayed because GAVIN lost the house keys in his pocket) but out flight was just after midnight so really our day started on Friday 18th We left Perth at 0005 and despite the rain had a reasonable flight, maybe even got some shut eye. snow snow and skating Sunday 20th Today we picked up our camper van and left Christchurch (after a huge breaky at Sophie’s even better than dinner) we didn’t need lunch and had to force dinner! We headed south to Lake Tekapo.. A scenic glacial lake with a very famous church right on the banks of the lake. No arguing here and Christian denomination takes turns at using it. Imagine sitting in the pews praising God looking over His wonder of a lake and snow capped mountain peaks. The day the boys have been waiting for! SNOW We discovered the ski field we were heading for had decided to close for 2 days following the NZ school holidays NOT HAPPY JAN………nothing on the website only heard by word of mouth, so we decided to brave Mt Dobson. traveling South in the rain today we left Lake Tekapo (after a quick stop over at teh church on the lake). it rained over night, and continued to rain as we drove. this landscape never ceases to amaze me Wednesday 23rd July today we find the internet YAY ( and discoverd the Dockers won double yay) Gavin is waiting to use the net so I had better hurry up! Today we travelled thought the MOST amazing country, no matter where you looked there was snow capped mountains or waterfalls, then you hit the coast and have surf crashing onto the road, then you turn a corner and its the mountains again. Mt Cook at sunset
