Nice! Jim, good job on showing us the fall colors of Vermont. Such a beautiful area. You truly had a great summer in New England which makes me even more envious of your situation while sitting here in my cube. I'd love a trip up there in the fall. Maybe one day...
We really enjoyed Cape Cod when we were there several years ago and saw a lot of what you have seen. I'm glad you are having so much fun - wish we were there too!! We spent last week in Farmington, New Hampshire with our friends and ate a lot of lobster, went to some of the mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, it was fun. Be safe!! Love, Karen
You're in big trouble!! Can't believe you were in Newport and didn't give us a call. We are only about an hour away and we could have driven over to see you and Roy!! Having a great time but we do miss the girls. We leave in about 3 weeks to head back home. Hope to take a more northern route back so we can see friends we were stationed with in Germany. Haven't seen the in about 25 years. From there heading to Branson Missouri and then on home. Next time you're that close you need to let us know. We don't get that many opportunities to see you and Roy! Love you both!!
hello WOW I would love to be there in Massachusetts. I forget the name of the town but there is suppose to be wall with the names of the Mattoon family who lost their life when the indians burned down the town. It was something to do with the King Philp war.
Maine Hey Jim, good report as always. I know Toad will love to read about it all. About the little stacks of rocks. If they're like we see out here, they're cairns which tell hikers which way to go should the path ever become hidden. Since you're on a very well maintained path, I doubt that these are actual cairns, just some folks' way of having some fun with other walkers.
York Beach Trip Thanks to Jim & Sally for posting the story and pics of your trip to York Beach Maine! Some great pics and it surely was a beautiful day!! mmmmmmm hard shell lobster....I'm envious, Jim!! Glad you guys are having fun!
Ahoy! Yet another fine reporting job Sgt! Of course, when I think of the Nautilus, I think of a different one. Thanks for showing us the real one! Hope all is well up there. We're getting a bit of relief and temps are in the low 100's instead of the 110's. C'mon October!
Go Boston! Nice segment Jim! Takes me back to my youth. We loved seeing Boston when I and the family were there in 2004. Toad wants to make another excursion one day and I know Knob will be upset if he doesn't get to go but his time is running out for vacations. Soon enough, he'll be heading off to college to make his own way in the world. Sorry about the heat there. Believe it or not, we've been getting somewhat of a break around here. The monsoon season is finally dumping some rain and the temps hover around 100 but with less humidity that what you're experiencing. Go figure. Thanks again for the history lesson.

Nice place! Hey guys! I think this to be a very interesting site to visit. I know nothing of the Gillettes but this guy's home is surely something to see. Thanks for taking us there! I trust your friend from here is having the time of her life right now. Toad and Knob drove off to Colorado today and left me behind to handle the cats and get some work done both in the garage and on the computer. Hope to hear from you soon. Don't forget, my stuff is located out in the http://surawski.smugmug.com area namely the 2013 Road Trip series.

Summer is almost here and it's time for Sally and I to head out on the road again. I wasn't certain if I would be blogging about our travels again this year but we have had a lot of friends tell us that they really enjoyed the blogs from last years trip and that we should do it again this year. So as a result of everyones input, we will be blogging about our adventures again this year. For the second year in a row, Sally and I will be spending our summer in New England, camping with friends and family. Because it was still a little too warm when we returned to Phoenix last September, we ha... full info
