From Chitwan, we left for Kalu’s village, Fishling. We came by bus, of course, and although we were prepared for the worst, this ride was relatively smooth! When we arrived, Kalu was immediately greeted by friends and family. (He is kind of a hero around here!!) News that his ‘bosses’ would be there traveled fast, and we felt like everyone knew us before we even got there…I think they were a little surprised at our ages, but they were all extremely kind and welcoming. Kalu gave us a tour of his village and introduced us to his family. He has three sisters (Putali, 16; Guri, 25; Sabitri; 28) and two brothers (Utter, 19; Mitra, 11).
