Fascinating megalithic structures near Phonsaven in Laos. Allegedly used for Burial or whiskey making but I am suspicious that they are far older and had a different use. There were fields full of them, some were huge, some amongst the trees, some broken ones, others had lids and there were some had humanoid figures carved in to the rock. Europe » Greece November 14th 2007

I came across this archaeological site when I was cycling through Greece. This site was fantastic; some really nice ruins set on the side of Mount Parnassus in the valley of Phocis. There were temples, a theatre, a stadium, they had baths, a gynasium and water channelling systems. The were detailed writings on the bricks/blocks that made some of the structures. The museum was great with some interesting artifacts and statues of gods or possibly aliens. South America » Colombia June 15th 2005

These ruins were set in the middle of the Colombian jungle. We had to climb 1200 steps to reach the hilltop ruins. There were carvings on the rocks that looked like a map, water channels, stone circles and would have been quite a construction job.
