Hi, Just had to add a tiny bit of history to your stories of the Badlands. Ralph's grandma (with several greats in front of it) was the first white woman in the Badlands! Not only can I not remember how many greats there should be, I'm not sure which side of his familyshe was on! There are still lots of his relatives in South Dakota. Love reading about your travels and looking at your pictures.

New Beginnings & Adventures for Bootsie & Martha What a wonderful sights that you get to see, maybe you should have adopted me and Bootsie both. The stories are wonderful and pictures make me feel like I'm right there with you. Give Bootsie a hug for me and I am so happy you came into our life. We are truly blessed. Roberta
Chapter 23 Hi Marty and Bootsie,
One of the things I noticed while driving I-90 near Mitchell, SD is that Michell is found in DAVISON County. There are
a couple of Davison things in Mitchell including a city street named Davison Ave.
Note: I just noticed there are 'two Chapter 21's' and NO Chapter 22. Not counting very good anymore goes with
getting tired faster these days, ha. All part of that wonderful phenomenon we call the "aging process".
Thanks Marty: I'm loving being able to follow you in your travels. I would love to have your email address so I could sent you emails, if that is possible. :)).
You are a great writer. I think you should do something for TV or magazines. I've been many of the places that you have been and you are very good with your writings and pics.
Have fun, stay safe and may God continue to bless your journey.
When/if you come back through OKlahoma City, I'd love for you to come and at least spend a night with us if possible.
We were still in NE Oklahoma when you were here in July. We were gone all of July.
Love ya'
A new beginning Hi Martha and Bootsie, I have really enjoyed reading your blog and having news of Bootsie. He will adjust and he will eat just keep that dry food out and he will get into it. He is a very lucky cat, maybe I should have gone instead of him. Anyway I will look for your blog with great antisapation. Hi Bootsie, thought I'd telll you Odis and Milo miss playing with you. Roberta
Familiar Territory! I drive by a couple of these things every two weeks on my way to the doctor. I've seen them so often, I think I take them for granted.
travel blog Well Aunt Joan said you had been gone (July 20th) from her house about an hour. I figured you left before we got there because you didn't want to face me after having eaten Hugh and Joan out of house and home. Thought we were going to have to eat dog or cat food for lunch, ha.
Your'e trip through Nebraska brings back many memories (both good and bad) of that state after having lived in Omaha for 15 years. I love sweet Nebraska corn on the cob, but get very tired of looking at it when driving across Nebraska. I too liked 'carhenge'. Have visited Mamie 'Doud?" Eisenhower's girlhood home in Boone, Iowa but never made it to Abilene to see the Eisenhower Library. Am very glad you liked the more modern rest area of Nebraska - most don't have the 'free wi-fi'.
I hope Bootsie will become the type of 'travlin partner' the other two cats became. Keep on truckin!
Davison family reunion 2010 Marty - you got some great pictures of some of the OKC sites. It was GREAT getting to see so many relatives and especially aunts Lucy, Betty and Joan as well as Uncle Jerry. Met several cousins I had never met before and got re-aquainted with many I already knew. Thanks so much to Chairman John Conner and the entire Davison re-union committee members. I know how much work is involved by each of you to prepare for a re-union this size, as well as the continuous duties that needed doing during the re-union. I don't know about anyone else that attended, but I personally felt the re-union was a resounding success.
My sister and brother-in-law, not to mention several cousins and one of my aunts and uncles live in Owasso. They attend Rejoice Free Will Baptist Church.
B.O. from P.U. - that's a good one.
With all the things you do, you really don't seem like a senior citizen. You are more active than most people my age.
Oh no no no. Marty, I am so so sorry. That's devastating. The pictures are amazing, and the totem pole in particular. But I just feel so badly about Cali.
hi I am so sorry about the loss of your kitties. Thank you for sharing all of your adventures with all of us, Marti. You are on a most amazing journey.
More good stuff! The little dog was able to climb the tree too? Wow. Poor Cali.
Those peublo houses are so so amazing. And the Pueblo church is wonderful. It just shows that things don't have to be fancy to be beautiful.
Oklahoma Martha, my mom is from Shawnee, Oklahoma. And I have relatives in Tecumseh, Norman, Oklahoma City, and many more. Our family reunion is held in Sulphur, OK every Labor Day weekend at Cold Springs campground. Love the blogs - thanks!
Such good pictures I did not know that, that the man made sure no one was every charged a fee. That's great.
Yep, I can see the gift shop!
That is also a really great shot of Cali.
Truly Magnificent sorry I haven't been here for awhile....you're not the only one behind in things !!
Besides that one necklace you got, did you get any silver/turquoise jewelry??
It's a real post office? How cool!
Oh, and those donuts? They ARE really good. If you ever go back, you'll have to get some.
Those pictures are just amazing. You did a good job.
Widowed in 2008, I decided to pursue the dream my husband and I had of traveling. I took to the road in a 24 foot RV and haven't looked back. I had three goals: visit all my numerous cousins, visit all the lower 48 states and complete my bucket list. To date, I am revisiting cousins and states, adding to my bucket list, making new friends and having a ball. I blog so I can have a journal not only for myself, but anyone else who is interested. I am madly in love with my digital camera and take hundreds of pictures. I started out with my feline pal, Sam, but lost him along the way. Cali s... full info
