I love light houses
I wish I could have seen all the light houses. My great Aunt Luella loves lighthouses! She collects anything with a lighthouse on it, but I know she most enjoys seeing them in person. But now I'm going to have to look up how to play Mexican train dominoes. I'm intrigued!

Postcard Worthy Pictures
The pictures you took are amazing! The ones of the scenery look just like postcard pictures. I especially like the one of Crater Lake West. As I was reading about the cats in the cages, you expressed my thoughts. I hate seeing wild animals cooped up. But if they were old 'Hollywood' animals, then I'm glad they have a place to stay. They wouldn't last a minute in the wild anymore, so it's nice to know people care. The painting group sounds like such a treat. You kind of 'stumbled' into a good time! Stay safe and keep up the good blog work. Amber

weasel
Marty, Durham said he was pretty sure it was a weasel. We have had rain, rain, rain since Wyoming. We're spending the 4th in St Louis MO. I plan to do some blogging when I finish my email. Be safe and have a great time. Elaine

I'm glad you made it to Crater Lake. The color of the water is so gorgeous. The amount of snow you encountered at Crater Lake is not unusual for May. The rim drive and trail down to the water are usually not open until mid to late June because of snow. Did you know that is the deepest lake in the U.S? That little animal looks like a weasel to me.

Incredible!
The Lost Coast, it sounds like a part of America where time forgot. I love places like that. It sounds enchanting. The church you described reminds me of my late grandmother's church. There were about ten people in that church (an old country church), and every time I'd stay with her it would be an event. They didn't get visitors that often. It made the services even more special. I wish I could have seen the races! They sound incredibly fun - both for participant and bystander! : )

Thanks for the Update
I remember seeing the Redwoods in California. It seems like such a long time ago. I just remember how huge the trees were and how small I felt. God certainly created something magnificent when he made that place! I love the pictures you included. It kind of gives us a feel for the places you go. And I always like seeing the pictures of the people you get to see on your travels. : )

Lewis and Clark, oh my!
Boy, do we look like pee wees compared to Lewis and Clark, and all the other pioneers that went before us. I don't think there are people alive right now who could go back in those days and thrive. Puts me to shame, that's for sure! I love the picture of the peacock. Wind or not, it is breathtakingly lovely. I hope you are still taking care of yourself. Cali can't keep an eye on you all the time! : ) Amber
