The Leap, Part II

So this is it! I am foregoing looking for a job after I leave the service to travel for a year. My first destination is Europe. It will be flexible as I want the winds to take me to great experiences. I will start in Munich (ironically, on the 10th anniversary of 9/11) and end there, and suppose should pass through for Oktoberfest. I plan to do long-distance hikes in the Alps, along the Med and in the Pyrenees. Other than that, I'm open for suggestions from experienced travelers or I'll just wait to get them from the locals!
