Ice cream
World's best ice cream? Big claim but sounds like you are having fun. You and temples are a theme on these trips... :)

Thank you for taking the time to share.
I am doing research so I won't have so many surprises. Is there a train? Did you hear of a company that would be reliable? Thanks again!

Response
Actually - these 'impressions' are the things I liked about Albania and why I would like to go back and see some more of the country. Regardless of whether they are positive or negative - they are the things that I thought made Albania unique from other countries!!

Oktoberfest hints
That's funny! I lose my voice EVERY year and will try the vitamin B. About confessing undying love to an ex - there is a brewery north of Munich, Kuchlbauer, who produces a beer called Alte Liebe - Old Love. They say that after drinking this strong brew you will wan to call your ex-girlfriends, hence the name. With the words to german beer songs - many are in English, so you don't have to make up any word, but you can also find a bunch of them at the toytowngermany website - just search on Oktoberfest Lyrics. Also, I have some similar hints on my blog at bayerntrips

haa, whatever.
i love how you have all negative things to say abut albania but nothing positive. Albania is a beautiful country; from the beaches to the dajti, the mountains, tirana (capital) and so much more. You obviously didn't look into the country as much because if you did you wouldn't post all of this negative shit. Of course it has flaws: what country doesn't? AlbaniaForLife

I will add one more to your list: the bunkers! And we definitely went out of our way to get a nice up close look. :o)

The smorgasbord
Gee that was a disgrace! I think it might technically be a buffet but certainly not a smorgasbord. Cassie and I had spent a bit of time speculating as to what food they'd have - Norwegie food such as herring, applecake, Tørrfisk, Smørbrød. Should've known..

Plods!
Ah mate ... good to see the process for victims of crime in Macedonia is as good as here in the UK! Wouldn't be a trip without some sort of insurance claim/debacle. Sounds like your having a trip of a lifetime! I'm tired just thinking about all those bus rides! Where are you off to next? Nat

Hi Amanda, Good to hear you are still traveling and having an adventure! I caught up with Sarah C the other day and she said to say hello! She is going well, studying and still working at AGs. When are you heading back to Aus? Take care. Sara:)

About the only hostel I could find - it was called Anker Hostel - right next door to a hotel of the same name. Bit of a walk out of the centre; but nothing too bad!

You call that a drive
Hi honey In England that might be a long drive! I left home (Melbourne)on my own last Tuesday and drove 8 hours to Canberra. Stayed the night with Betty, left the next morning and drove 7 hours to Maitland - 2.5 hours north of sydney. Next day I drove 1 hour to Muswellbrook to visit a friend then back to Maitland (for a 60th). Drove home to Melbourne from Maitland on Sunday. The Sunday drive was 12.5 hours in Michale's V8, 6 speed Commodore and I loved it. All up it was around 2,400kms in 6 days. Mind you, we are a bit short on lousy weather and fresh out of Castles. Looking forward to your return. Judy (Aussie Aunt)

Great blog
Thinking of doing something similar in April. Got the flights booked. Out of interest what hostel did you stay in? Thanks.

There's a free travel area between UK and Ireland. So when you arrive into UK/Ireland on a flight from outside UK/Ireland, then your passport will be checked. But when you travel on flight within UK/Ireland, your passport wont be checked. You dont even need a passport, just ID.
