Europe » Ireland » County Dublin » Dublin November 24th 2009

Bright, well not so bright, and early we arrived at Dublin after 10 hours on the bus then another 3 on the ferry. Although it was only 7am, and as most people know Maggie doesn't do so well that early in the day, we managed to find "the Shining" hostel and tuck ourselves into bed. Emerging from our beds in the arvo we went exploring Dublin. A very cool city it seems to have everything. an entire section called Temple Bar is the place to go for a pint of Guinness while just a bit further up the road in the medieval and viking section. So mind blowing how far back the history goes here compared to back in Oz. After checking out all the shops we returned to our dorm to get changed and hit ... read more

Europe » United Kingdom » England » Greater London » Westminster November 24th 2009

After another 12 hr bus ride we arrived back in London, this time staying on the other side of the city, just to mix things up. The Astor Hostel has been my favourite hostel to stay at so far. After just arriving we had already made friends with Ivan (Joey) from the Bahamas - one of the nicest guys in the world, is very keen to come to Australia so as to take a Kangaroo back to the Bahamas. That would make him the most popular person there, obviously Pier from France - so so nice, speaks the best English out of all the Frenchies but gets very frustrated when we can't understand him Vincent from France - Courtney fell in love at first sight..... touchie subject. Noumi from France - really nice but doesn't speak ... read more

Europe » Netherlands » North Holland » Amsterdam November 24th 2009

Looking back on our time in Amsterdam I'd have to say it has been one of my favourite places. Once you get past the smell of marijuana everywhere it is an amazingly beautiful city with the nicest people I've met yet. So many people while we've been traveling ask us which people are the nicest and I would definitely vote for the Dutch. Just walking down the street everyone is always smiling and friendly. I can't even name the amount of times people have stopped to ask if we were ok when standing there looking at the map for ages. I just love it. The city is so different to anything I've seen in Australia its so much fun. The streets are a bit confusing with their winding roads and 12 letter long names but you ... read more

Once upon a time there was two awesomely awesome people named Courtney and Maggie. On a random whim they decided to go on an adventure to Europe... Day one: We both arrived at the airport stupidly pumped for our trip. Although being so so so excited about what was ahead of us, we both managed to cry thanks to the efforts of Kaity. We will miss everyone so much but this trip needs to happen. By the time we arrived in Sydney we had both composed ourselves and the excitement was back! The flight from Sydney to London was long but fun all the same. Arriving at 6am you'd assume we'd be exhusted and jetlagged, but not these two little black ducks!!!!!! We werent able to check into our hostel until 2pm so decided to ditch ... read more
