Dili, East Timor

I never managed to venture out of Dili the whole time I’ve been in East Timor which is not my usual way of travel and I’m excited to be moving on tomorrow. I had to be back in Dili this afternoon so it wasn’t really long enough to go east or south to Mt Ramelau and see more of the country but a little too long to stay entertained in Dili. I was going to go out to Atauro Island but by the time I came up with that plan it was Sunday and there were definitely no boats going out. I'm not exactly into blogging but I figured it might be better than the old group email. This way you can come and read abit when you have time instead of being overwhelmed by my epic emails... The Ghan called the night before I left to tell me that there was at least a 24 hour delay because of flood risks in the Port Augusta area (rains left over from cyclone Yasi) but that it might be cancelled, meaning I'd be stuck in Adelaide for a week. Luckily it was safe to leave the next day. The train ride was uneventful but nice. I was being very antisocial and didn't talk to any of the other backpackers.
