Love it Liz - have just caught up with about 15 of your blogs (sorry, been pretty busy...!) and laughed out loud loads. Brilliant! Looks like your having a great time, take care of yourself enjoy the rest of NZ and South America. Jx
crude and predictable Well lizzie i have been reading your journal avidly and enjoying it immensely. whilst i have perused your artistic landscapes i have to confess i was drawn by the half naked bodies strewn to your left in the above photo. i know i am crude and predictable but you would have been disappointed if i hadn't passed some comment. all sounds fab and seems picturesque! can't wait to hear the unedited version when you return. lots of love
green...mostly with envy! hey liz,
Really enjoying reading about your travels but have to say it's a bit painful as well when I look out the window at another grey, cloudy, cold day to wonder yet again when spring will arrive! Did the pub quiz last night. We called ourselves 'Team Southey' in your honour and um...we were rubbish without you! Lots of love, Em x
Table Asman looking good ... Yet more fabbo sights to amaze and delight us ...and you`re looking pretty good yourself !...Must have been a tricky rugby match trying to avoid that tree ..perhaps that`s where England went wrong on Saturday !? ....Keep sending us the sunshine pics, as it`s minus a trillion here this morning with a hefty wind chilly factor we need all the Vitamin D we can get.. Loads of love xxxx US and Marms xxxxxxxxx
Bored at work............. Hello madam!
All looks amazing! Just read about 5 journals all at once and feel totally up to speed with NZ in general now!
Loving the St Patrick's Day fancy dress! I wore green to work and that was the size of it! Even with a name like Orla McLarney - it took people a while to realise it was a St Patrick's Day statement and not just a jaunty new look for me!
I find reading the blogs really weird now as I recognise all the clothes in the pictures (!) and can completely envisage exactly how you pack them all away in your rucksack (in the plastic baggy things that are just such a clever idea!)! It's rubbish being back and would give my left leg to still be out there with you........looks like loads of fun!
Take care and see you soon!
Lots of love,
Orla

Too Much Fun All this looks too much fun. Discipline - that what the youth of today needs. All this drinking, enjoyment and more drinking. Dressing up in silly clothing. Ughh! Never happened in my day. Bring back the birch.

Knock on wood... Good to see you are getting stuck in to the rest of NZ Southey. Dissapointed in the lack of comments after my porn style shot with the big brown fella. I expected more of you Cardiff Uni!
Tim tams At last! A completely independent party concurs that Tim tams are better than Penguins!! (Available at Tescos you'll be pleased to know.) Rocket x
Looks like you're having a fab time Liz. It rained all the time when I went to Pacific islands too! Never mind, your tan doesn't seem to be suffering! Take care xxx
Better than 1530 Liz; what a fantastic time you're having, and at last some serious rock exposure - the perfect excuse to get your hammer out. I think I'd find this place even more exciting than the news last week that 1530 has been accepted by Diabetes Care! It reminds me of Angel Falls and Canaima in Venezuela, which is no doubt on your 'to do' list. I'm looking forward to seeing the South American stuff (which will also mean you'll be closer to coming back to work). You're looking tanned and toned and it's good to see your writing style developing in different directions.
Yet more cracking snaps .. Glad to see that Orls is now catching up on the tan ..you both look great and FeeJee looks fabbo too..even without the sun ! ...and after the beer did you join in with the singing ,dancing and guitar playing ? ...and home by 9pm we hope ! Lots of love as always xxxUs and Marms xxxx
More cracking snaps .. By golly your tan looks positively mahogonay coloured now ...or was Orls nearer the flash than you ? ...Love the beach shots ,not many MANlys on the beach though . Dadsy likes the arch: shots of the Opera House..must have been a bugga climbing up that close to get them ! glad you and Orls had a great time .Lots of love xxxxUs and Marms xxxxx
Cracking snaps ... Lots of trees then ...and also lots of water and rocks...and quite blue too ! All fabbo ,you look very relaxed and smiley at Govetts Leap ,or was it the blisters making you grimace ? Take care ..lots of love xxxxx Us and Marms xxxxxx

Fiji sounds and looks great and great to see orls looking well. glad all going well and as for being ripped off that makes your story all the more interesting. keep the updates coming its fab to hear from you and see you delecatably and deliciously sunkissed especially as it is 7.30 here in school and snowing! lots of love and already looking forward to you being back to hear of your adventures.
Are the latest shenanigans X-rated? I'm concerned that we've had no updates recently - has it all got a bit too much out there?! Can't wait to see more pics and hear more news. Have got your parents staying this weekend - I'll try and keep them out of trouble for you! Showed Tom your website - he still recognises "Tiz" - keep the pics coming please!By the way, Broad Breen 2 is a boy...!!!
Damn.. Ben will definitely fancy you now! You cool surfer little chick you! Glad to see you are living it up on the East coast- partying until dawn...
Miss you watching the rugby!
Well Lizzie bizzie. i knew all that wriggling would come into use at some point. i take it that's what you have to do to stay on a surf board!!! You look too damn gorgeous for my liking tanned and chilled. impressed by the vodka and cranberry still keeping some level of class! hope you have been through the repertoire of games and that bras are not being worn as ear muffs but it sounds far too warm for that! loving your news and looking forward to hearing what you and orls get up to. give her my regards.. stay safe Kes XXX
Wow! V impressed with your surfing skills Liz! Should have know you'd be a natural. And I'm glad you got some tips on how to handle your blade from the annoying girl in the canoe. You might have struggled without her.
Sounds like you're having loads of fun. You look bronzed and beautiful in the photos.
By the way, can we email you individually, so the rest of your friends don't have to read my drivel? If so, which address are you using?
Lots of love, Niki x
bon jour L man, thanks for the text dude. We missed you on the weekend at my b'day shindig. Still, it looks like your mixing it up successfully overseas. Like your style. I want to see a Southey 360 on the surf board by the end of the week. Will write properly soon. G man
Just a normal day then ... A home from home ...unwashed clothes on the bed ,drinking until the early hours, amazing the locals ..so similar to Ox ..well except for the sun ,sea, sand and surfin`...love the tan ( or is it lack of showers ?) and great to see you looking so well and happy ...know you`re drinknig ,but are you eating ? ....Loads of Love from us all xxxxx UsXXXXX and MarmsXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Last day at work............... .............very excited as this is it! My last day at work! Technically, I'm only having a half day anyway as I'm so excited and annoying all my work colleagues! Hence, they are letting/making me leave early!! Flight is at 9:25pm tonight.....how cool?!?! Rucksack is all packed......only one pair of birks and some trainers! Hardly any clothes which, considering it's a three week holiday, is a most uncomfortable experience for me!!
I'll be seeing you at the Lost Property bit (I'll be the lost looking one!) in Sydney Main Bus Station for breakfast on Friday morning! I'll be there from about 8am I reckon - see you whenever! Don't hurry - I've some great books to read!
See you soon!
Orla

What's the date? I'll see if I can get a flight. My white lard has now turned very brown, so I may stick out even more than last year...
Liz "the man" Southey x
p.s. Cant believe my parents were having a good time at CORC without me, tut tut.
They'll never smell clean AGAIN..? Hey Liz - had to let you know that Team Southey were laying down some particularly funky moves in Oxford last weekend! You should see how they behave when they're off the leash!! Glad you're having a great time. By the way, we're struggling for a stroke for the HOR. Fancy it? Px
I have been working non-stop since leaving university and last February I felt I had got to the point where I could buy a house and settle down or I could travel the world and mix-it-up globally...it was a tough decision.
While I have travelled quite a bit with my job and on holiday (Europe and the US), I felt I had never really got out there and seen stuff. Consequently, I am taking a 6-month sabbatical from work, starting in Jan 2006, and will be travelling to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador (and fingers crossed, the Galapagos Islands).... full info
