Whew! I'm so glad to know the fires are behind you..it was very upsetting to know there was trouble that was beyond our control. They ARE behind you, right? Looks like you don't have to consort with too many dummies on a dig (archaeologists, geologists, physicists, etc.) I guess that's a large part of the attraction. It surely can't be the heat or the dirt or the fashions. Keep up the good reporting, but save copies of everything. The blog site is obviously not too reliable. Love you more.
Glad you're back online Good to see you back online... but sorry you lost some of your blog entries... the pictures of the fires were SCARY... must have been horrible watching the fires creeping closer to you. No words to describe such a thing. I'm glad you stayed safe. Cuzn B
Yayyyyyyyy Libba, I am so happy to have an update. Seems you had some blog site troubles. I loved seeing where you were digging and seeing pictures of you with a tan. Hahahah.
All is well here ... looking forward to more of your travels.
Love, Robyn
Glad I checked in Man I have been wondering about your travels for days and days. Very interesting, photos are FABU, and ... stop accepting rides with strangers! Just kidding of course, it isn't like you are in the US. Looking forward to more. Love Aunt Robyn
Greetings from Pontotoc! Hi, Libba... I finally got your blog address so I could see for myself what's happening! This is a much more "intense" trip (Evan just loves it when I use that word) than my sojourn to Germany in MY 20's, but it takes me back to fond memories of my trip (which included seeing the Roman ruins at Trier). You are much braver than me, however, as I went with a friend, who was already a seasoned world traveler. It was a little disconcerting when she broke down at a little village train station in the Alps, as SHE was supposed to be "supervising" me, as I recall. Anyway, it sounds like you are making the most of your opportunities on this trip and getting alot of workouts in as well. Hope to read about more of your adventures soon! Love, Cuzn Beth
Yeah, no worries there. I wasn't about to submerge in the water, though many others were. I have to say though, extra toes might have come in handy when I was climbing those hills and things...
Kyra Springs...What's in that Water? This place looks beautiful and inviting....but in pix 42 it looks like you have grown an extra toe or two. DO NOT sit down in the water.
I've joined your travels.... How exciting! I love love reading about your adventures.....and the pictures ain't to shabby either! Thanks for describing everything in such vivid detail....I'm enjoying Greece and I haven't even had to break a sweat! Keep up the excellent work! Love you XOXO
We demand goofy pictures... ...as well as the awesome sightseeing ones. We need a good balance of each, just as you give an excellent balance of the present and the past. Your mom brought up an excellent point last time, and not only about my dietary commitments to you: it would be fascinating to know what it means to live in the shadow of these sites, since it obviously means something special to the locals. In the meantime, fix the wireless!
This day ..." beauty-full" Once I saw the picture, outside the north wall I could see why it is worth all the hard work. A busy and productive day. Thank you for the history lessons you are providing me. I , like your Mom, was missing your blog and trust the internet thing will hold true for your entire trip. Thanks for keeping us posted on your travels.
Love, Robyn
p.s.more pictures of you please!
What a Great Day! So happy this posting finally arrived...been looking for it for two days. Hope the wireless issue smooths out for you. The pix and commentary are super. Next time you find friendly locals, get someone to take a shot of you. I want to see if its really my daughter climbing all these crumbling staircases and treking those overgrown pathways. So now, on to Athens?
Lots of followers Your blogs are lively and interesting. I'd like to know more about any locals you meet. Where do they travel? What does all this history mean to those who live with it on a daily basis? How does Michael plan to keep up his special dietary commitment to you?
Behold my works, ye mighty, and despair That, Libba, is one ruinous ruin. Those wacky Myceneans; everything they ever built just fell apart, didn't it? As I sit here in my armchair drinking coffee, all I can think is that I wish I wasn't sitting in my archair drinking coffe but out there scrambling over weed-choked hills and coming face to face with the past. I can tell you're having a blast. Take care, sacrifice to the gods and watch your step.
All that sweating for rocks and weed? You are an impressive little sightseerer. I think ... for me I would have had a latte with the priest and found two books. Just kidding ... NOT...
I knew your mom and dad shouldn't have taken you to all those forts on your vacations. I love reading of your traveling days. Keep up the good work for us and I love having the pictures too. Be careful and keep lots of water ... bet you could use a Jesus bandaid for those sticker cuts.
Love you Libba . Happy 4th, probably the 5th for you now ... of July. I await more stories. Love you. Aunt Robyn
Libba-on-Thebes action. In honor of your travels, I will eat nothing but red onions, feta, basil, and lemon all month. Come to think of it, how IS the food there? Is it awesome or awful? But the most important question remains: why did the Greeks name their Tragic Kindgom of Thebes after a No Doubt album?
In all seriousness, how did you manage to meet up with any of Pro's fam? I thought you weren't on speaking terms with any of them. Why aren't any of the sites active, especially during the summer? And keep up the excellent work on the Travelbloggensteinowitzenberger. I'm especially keen to see your photos and impressions of Gla.
Libba, amazing! T-shirt idea is actually pretty funny if you ask me! Your pictures and descriptions are great. Are you guys all speaking in Greek or English or both??

Sounds easy enough
I know for a fact you've seriously condensed the process to date, but I'm wishing you the best. L.Y.M.
