hey..so, first of all I just came into the office..and there's a teacher and like 11th grade kid having a mtg in here or something, lol. its been kind of hard to find time to actually sit down and write a whole entry and put up pics/videos so even though i just uploaded an entry i actually wrote that yesterday in the afternoon and couldn't put up the pics until today.. so, here are a few more updates and a few more pics/videos from yesterday. 1. i figured out that i can buy bread and rolls at the cake store across the street, and on Sun. So..everyone wants to know how the singing went on Sat, lol..it was ok. Not so much to tell about really though. We went over to the stage area outside around 9am and all of the kids in the whole school were carrying out chairs from their classroom to sit on. The primary classes each have a class set of plastics stools which are light..but the older kids carried out their metal chairs from all over the school campus, lol. it's been awhile since I wrote on here last.. so the main updates are: 1.Steve got sick over our National Day vacation, and had to go to the hospital in Shanghai. He was there for 2 weeks, and may have had appendicitis but its kind of unclear..and now he has to go home to recover, and will come back at the begininning of Dec. 2. Saturday is the school's 10th anniversary, so there will be a celebration thing all day. We (Candice, Drew, and me) have to sing a song in Chinese for it, so that should be pretty hilarious, lol. So since I wasn't able to get online in the week before Nanjing..I have many updates which by now are already old, haha..but here they are anyway.. Monday morning I woke up and my left eye was swollen almost shut. I wasn't that surprised because I've been waking up with one of my eyes swollen every few days, and then the swelling goes down by the evening. Great time in Nanjing! Candice and I got the bus at 9:30 Tues. morning, and were in a random dirt parking lot in Nanjing by 12:00. Not sure where we were or if we'd be able to get an actual taxi, we got into an unofficial taxi and I showed them the address of the hostel that I had Sharon (one of the chinese english teachers) write for me in Chinese. so, while I'm trying to upload some videos of the show, I'll update you on the rest of the week. Last week, Carol asked Candice and Fabrice if a camera crew from the local tv channel could film them for a day. It wouldn't be that weird except hat the reason the picked the 2 of them is that their skin is darker! lol, anywhere else that would be racist and offensive, but not in China. We left for Shanghai right after my last class on Friday and in a total rush to leave...i forgot my passport :-/ (that's an annoyed face). I wasn't even gonna mention it here since I still can't believe I did that..but there are so many stories to tell as a result of that (only good ones), that I have to.
