Today Is NewYears Eve, And I call this email Bella Luna for two reasons. Now for the email… Today is beautiful! Rafi’s family is here (about 20+ people) with us at the beach house. All the ladies cook a dish or two and the men will do up the BBQ tonight. I am doing my moms Famous mash-potatoes!! We have spent most of the day at the beach swimming and snorkeling. I have made good friends with Rafi’s little cousin Arielly. She is a sweet girl, and Intelligent Wow!! She has learned and memorized everything I have said in English!!! Well Its happened again... I am an Auntie!! Rafael's Brother 'Junior' and his wife Leda Had twin boys last night, November 25, 2009 at 11pm. Mom and babies are Healthy and strong. Boys are 3.1kg and 2.8kg... 6. something each in pounds. Their names are ''Yuri'' and ''Igor''. which with the brazilian acsent sounds like ''You-dee"and " EE-a Go" I have not met them yet. They stay in the hospital for two days here in Brazil. They will arrive here on Friday. I have seen pics, they are beautiful. Dad is Very happy, happy to be a father!! Rafael and I wont meet them until Sunday night. We are going to "Amargosa'' a city close to Salvador, this weekend with our friends Paulo and Joceli. They are very nice. Mangroves I am Doing Wonderfully here!! Today Rafael and I went with our friend Cabo and his wife in his river canoe through the Mangroves. Cabo is an old man somewhere in his 70’s (so they say…) he acts like he is forty. Cabo doesn’t stop. He is the one that built our house, he fishes, canoes, he takes care of god knows how many acres of land. And he climbs 100ft trees and gives Raf (my monkey boy) a race to the top. He has had an amazing life, Cabo and his wife are incredible kind, gentle people and have a happiness that is humble but shines through their very being. Hey All, So I Have Landed in Brazil! Flying into Sao Paulo Was Amazing!!! The Color is so truly beautiful!! The buildings are oranges reds greens blues yellows nestled in lush green rain forest, with fields of Red Red earth breaking up the intense green. Sao Paulo is Mountainous, very much like vancouver's rolling mountains. I was to take a plane to Salvador from there. I went to the gate I was supposed to go to, they scanned my ticket and the announcement came over the intercom to board the plane. i jumped up and got to the front of the line, we waited for a long time for the plane. they scanned my ticket and on the plane I went. it was a blessing that I asked the staff what seat I was in, he ... read more

Well I think I last let you know that i arrived in rafael's home town. his Family is still wonderful!! we have spent almost two weeks at the beach house. Its truly amazing there!! at the back of our house (where our bedroom is) we can see the ocean. We wake up to the sound of birds, and the waves crashing on the shore. we have our breakfast spread, then head to the hammock, to listen to the ocean and digest... wait .... our life gets harder..... so see... we have taken up fishing... the village meets on the beach. the canoe takes the nets out and we pull them in.
