Howdy Kids! Yay. I've got some free time at work and am going to catch up to all your posts. Good work on bargaining for the dominos! Have you guys heard the song "Istanbul" by They Might Be Giants: "Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That's nobody's business but the Turks "
That is what I am singing right now in St. Louis :) Miss you guys!
Walk like an Egyptian I can understand the annoyance of being hasseled to buy something every time you turn around. Reminds me of when we were in Italy. We could have bought a "Rolex" for every day of the week for an incredable "bargin".
The sense of history that you are seeing and experiencing has to be incredible. I am sure that the photos, which incredable, are not showing the true wonder of these places. Look forward to your entries.
Egypt 2 days on a feluca!! Mad or what?? Glad to hear that Cairo is as mad as ever and that Luxor lived up to ecpectations. Can't wait to hear about Bombay (old fashioned uncle!!)
Saw Mary Poppins last night - Christine wante me to tell Brigid that Lachlan made her miss a great show!
Have fun
Paul
Wow! Sounds so exciting and scary at the same time! It must be exhausting trying to fight off all the crazy trade ppl all the time! Glad uz seem to be keeping your spirits up though!
Great photo! Hi - It's 9/10 and the hot weather has broken here in St. Louis.
Only 80 today - with overnight temps in the 50's.
Was great to hear good news of your trip from Mary and Doug after their visit.
It was even better to SEE you lookin' great in the photos. Glad it's going well and that you're enjoying yourselves.

Jealous I am soooooooo jealous of you two right now. All the art and history that you two are surrounded by in Egypt. I think I would kind of go into sensory overload. Not sure if I could try the Fried pigeon or cow hoof but sounds interesting. If you guys are out and about in Cairo or Egypt some more, see if you can find Bin Laden for us ;) Stay Safe!
Hey Guys! its great to see that your Mr. and Mrs. Delong out in Scotland visiting! i'm glad they are having fun, sorry Brendan. Summer winding down, Sep here, but the Cubs are still in First :) the upcoming 5 vs stl will be exciting for sure. good luck in Egypt, Paul and I visited "little egypt" aka southern IL.
Disgruntled I am not please with any of you! You are soaking up all the fun and good times. First you two left for your trip round the world in 280days (give or take a week). Then because you left Mom and Dad leave for a week to visit. Leaving Jane and I with the dog, and me being the only one out of our family in this country. THAT WAS A LITTLE WEIRD! Next time you guys plan on leaving I want more notice in advance so I can save up and come with you. :-p

GO CUBS!!!! HI guys! Hap and I will be at the game Sunday! We already took one from you! Lets hope for the sweep! The Cubs are still a few games ahead of the Cards! Love and Miss you!
Very Nice! I can't decide which picture I like better, it's either the obviously intoxicated Lachlan sucking the soul out of the glass 'cause it looks like he got EVERYTHING else, or the obviously intoxicated Lachlan sporting the Rockstar Glasses.......I think I'm going to have to vote for the Rockstar. Anyone else want to vote on which one is better? Please justify your vote. CONGRATS ANDY AND LORNA!!!!!
Cards vs Cubs You know I had to add a comment re: that Cards comment! Who would've thought the Cards still have a chance but the NL central is so bad right now, its a crawl to the finish!
It seems like you 2 are having a great time. I love the pictures and information about Prague. You both are making me want to travel and now I have an idea where are good places to visit. THank you so much and I hope to read more on your adventures and be safe.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Happy 2nd anniversary guys ! Thats cotton right? Good thing.....I'm sure you have a lot of that in your packs. Be safe and have fun in Ireland!
My roots! Did you meet any Nahliks while you were there? That is my family's (1/4th, the quarter the name came from) home country.
Certainly all the women were very hairy.
Horrors of Bratislava Hey - Do you remember that semi-recent horror movie called "Hostel"? It was supposed to be set in Bratislava. Definitely did not appear to be a resort town. But their gore-filled dungeons were popular enough to bring on a sequel this summer....
hey!!! Hey you guys!!!! Looks like you are having a blast and I am looking forward to your next entry! Hey Red, I am going home this weekend to Chi town for that huge country music festical I was telling you about. 3 days of camping, drinking, dancing, live music and....you know.....Love you both!!!!
Ernst I see what's happening here, you are making Ernst the "fall guy" for all the things that go wrong. However, I'm glad to see that you are letting Ernst have some fun as well.
Love your pictures and comments on your travels. The people you meet often make a trip more meaningful and enjoyable.
Brendan's friend I have been reading your posts and they are so funny and interesting. I hope that you continue to have a great time. You both are making me want to take a trip like that myself. :-) Have fun and can't wait to read what is going on next.
Lachlan: 28 years old, born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. Moved to the USA in April 2002 'for' Brigid, who is now my wife of almost 2 years. Sporty, goofy scientist, about to quit my job in genetics to travel the world for 10 months.
Likes: food, beer, wine and feather duvets
Dislikes: shopping, pain, passive aggressive VISA/immigration people
Interesting fact: If anyone asks, I am not 'the brain'
Brigid: yeah, ok, now 29 years old, born and raised in St. Louis, MO (USA), home of Budweiser and Cardinals baseball. Married to crazy, 'out there' Scottish guy for two happy years. Anot... full info
