From Shell: Jambo Duncan! Habari gani? Thanks for your comment. Yeah, someone did tell me it was 2million but I should have done some research before I wrote that. I duly accept my 'maziwa lala' with apologies!
My research is telling me its around 1.2million, which is still a lot of people. We did actually hear about the new flats and our taxi driver pointed some out to us - certainly a step in the right direction. However, sometimes it's not only about the accommodation and a more holistic approach is needed to really improve life and health for people. I certainly hope it works well in Nairobi as I liked it there very much.
Asante sana! Kwaheri.
come again we are glad you enjoyed your visit here but i have a slight grudge with shell, i really wish you are not serious while saying a city of 4 million people with 2 million livnin in Kibera. for your information our politicians constantly misguide the world on kibera situation for their own political patronages. as for now the slum is being upgraded to flats but you wont hear of that......anyway come again, contact me...you know..i can be your host next time
You're giving me the bug! Marja
Yours and Shell's blogs have kindled a little travel spark in me. It has been great to folow your travels and I'm starting to think that I should be planning a trip for Jan and I. All I have to do is convince Jan that it isn't such a terrifying a thing to travel OS.

Florence Hi folks,
Glad to hear that you enjoyed Florence. It's a shame you missed Siena - we went there and, together with Cinque Terre, was our highlight of Italy. Still, the south is good too.

As my life has absolutely no stress at the moment, I have been dreaming about that place a bit - always nice when you can wake up and say it was all a dream! Sorry all my old stuff has my name aggressively scrawled all over it! Way to go Webber and Stoner!! Woohoo!
Photos on blog I haven't tried to load any photos on this blog cause I've got flickr instead. Let me know if you want me to and I'll look into it.
Where is your blog Craig?????
I am enjoying also Thank you for these lively travelstories. Every day I take a cup of tea (white tea as it is so healthy and tasty!) and start reading and enjoying your stories. I dont have to carry luggage or suffer jetlags or hangovers. Ill just enjoy. Happy travelling to you both!

good on you I'm enjoying your stories, Marja. How easy is it to upload photos on this travel blog thingy? Do you need to take your own card reader, do all internet cafes' have it, or are you carrying a laptop?

France trip Hi Marja - and Shell,
Sounds like you're really enjoying yourselves. So, you've off the France ,eh? One of my favourite parts is the Loire Valley with all its magnificent chateaux. Will you make it down there? It's not too far form Paris.
Enjoy
Craig

Took us a while to decipher your comment, Kev. I was referring to Steve's mate Kevin but will take to calling him Roger "the dodgy lodger" like everyone else.
Btw, I did call Stephen 'Kevin' for the first 1.5 days..... d'oh!
NY good on you girls, braving the subway of NY wow, i hope the shuttle didnt dump you in the getthos!
sounds like fun even though its never personal in the big apple! lots of love, happy travels xo
ny been there, done that - had all the same bad treatment as well. Dirty city and the people walk over you.
If you managed to have a good time out of it - fantastic.
You obviously had a good phone time with Kevin ! Think it put a little pregnant pause in his day.
Keep truckin' and love to Stephen.
Statue hat Marj,
Sounds like you're having a great time, damn new yorkers- did you get a green foam statue of liberty hat?
