A view of guild houses from our guild house
From Shell: We were greeted in Amsterdam by Steve and things have got even better from there. Got into Holland at 10am, chatted with Steve and his mate Jan until the jet lag caught up, and then had a nanny nap while they went shopping for us - thanks guys. This meant that we then stayed up way too late but had a great dinner with Zeynep, Kevin and Jan.

Next day we slept through our hangovers and met Marja's dad Aulis at the airport and then all drove to Antwerp in Belgium. Steve pre booked an apartment for us and said it was 'near the action'. We walked out of a carpark to be presented with the most staggering view of 15th century onwards guild buildings, with statues coated in gold leaf on every gable. I can't describe how stunning it was.

We have a view of the tallest cathedral right next to our apartment which is fantastic, except that there are bells going every 7.5mins!

I''ve really loved Antwerp but have been pretty spoiled by staying in Grote Market. Photos to follow on flickr.

Took us a while to decipher your comment, Kev. I was referring to Steve's mate Kevin but will take to calling him Roger "the dodgy lodger" like everyone else. Btw, I did call Stephen 'Kevin' for the first 1.5 days..... d'oh!
