Sorry it has taken me so long to update this. We have been very busy and it's hard no to take full advantage of our rest time in the rare instance we do have some. We arrived at LAX at 630 Wednesday morning and breezed through check-in and security. Most guys ate breakfast in the airport and charged their various devices as we waitied for our flight. Our first flight to Toronto was pretty uneventful. There was food for purchase and screens on each seat to watch various movies or tv shows. Once in Toronto, we cleared immiagration and headed to our new gate. We then sat for a while or grabbed food at the various nearby restaurants. We got on board our flight around 8:30pm Toronto time, but did not actually depart until about an ... read more

Attached are some pictures from our final days in Barcelona. It has truly been an amazing trip. Thanks to everyone who helped make this trip possible. Thanks as well to our fabulous hosts at Gaudium Sports. We got to see so much of what the city has to offer in addition to playing against excellent teams. Each player has grown tremendously on this trip and in turn the team has become much stronger. It is definitely something Peter, the guys and I will remember for the rest of our lives.... read more

Day 3: Tuesday started much like Monday – breakfast and training at the High Performance Center. The difference, though, was that this was when all the traveling and training and walking and not sleeping finally came back to haunt us (as those things inevitably do). We were not at our best, and we paid for it in the training; we just got run over. But these things happen, these days happen, and part of coming together as a team is getting through the troughs. After the training we stayed to watch the Spanish National Team train with the French National Team. We saw them working on man-ups, then playing a semi-scrimmage. One of my favorite things to do is watch someone do something at which she is supremely skilled. It could be anything – tennis, mini-golf, ... read more

First of all, I want to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July! No fireworks over here, but Hunter did wear American flag short-shorts, so that kind of counts. Day 2: Okay, so when we last left off, we had just completed our first full day in Barcelona. Schedule-wise, it was a bit of an aberration though – every other day has roughly the same structure: morning scrimmages 9:45-11:30, lunch and a break, then night scrimmages 7:30-9:15, then dinner and bed. Day 2 was the first of these days. The breakfast was much the same – a lot of shuffling and grumbling, a lot of bread and coissants and jam. Then it was onto a bus at 8:30 that would take us to the High Performance Center where we would be training. The closest ... read more

I guess the last post did not work, so I will attempt to post the pics from today here. I have also added some panoramic pictures but it will not let me add captions to them. Can anyone spot what is wrong with the team panoramic pic? (Other than Tristan is missing.)... read more

We apologize that it took so long for this first blog update. The combination of two trainings a day, the myriad activities filling each day, and the fact that Spain’s natural circadian rhythms apparently won’t let anyone in the country eat dinner before 10pm has made finding the time (and energy) to blog pretty difficult. We know that leaves all of you guys stateside a little in the lurch, so we’ll try to be better about it for the remainder of the trip. Also, it may be hard for me to include pictures on my blog entries since I can’t connect my phone to my computer, but either Dusty will upload them in another entry or I’ll make my posts through him. Day 0: As you all probably know by now, the trip did not exactly ... read more

Sorry for the delay in postings, we have been extremely busy from the moment we got here and are finally getting a little time to relax during the day. We have been playing a ton of water polo and have already done quite a bit of site-seeing as well. Peter is going to write a detailed blog post at some point today so I will just post some pictures.... read more

After spending the night in the Heathrow Airport (thanks British Airways, you're too kind), I am about to finally board a plane for Barcelona. I expect to see the boys around 5pm tonight.
