So cool! Was speaking to a new girl at work today who has just come back from London. If she hadn't had an autistic son and needed help from her mum...she said she would still be there. It is a beautiful place.
Over-water bungalow in zanzibar The picture is GORGEOUS!
I'm looking for over-water bungalows in Zanzibar but can't seem to get any information online.
Where was this taken and do you remember where you stayed?
Many thanks!
Thank you You have answered all my questions about trekking in Dogon country, from the travel warnings' validity to the exact mileage for each day. Yours is an amazing blog! One question: Is the trekking basically flat?
it's been fun to travel along with you - would love to see more of Morocco some day. But I wanted to comment on the mosaics - we found the same thing at Italica outside of Sevilla - 2200 year old mosaics just out in the elements! Italica is a well-maintained site and some of the floors have been moved to the Archaeological museum in Sevilla (I don't know how) but we wondered how long the rest of them would last out there like that. Interesting to see in situ nonetheless. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
here's my write-up of Italica:

Tours in Marrakech Me and my wife did a long journey similar to the one mentioned. We were searching for a while until my wife's friends had beaten us to it, they were recommended by some friends to use Marrakech-Loisirs.com saw we googled it up and found them. We used them for a few trips in Marrakech and also did the sahara desert tours - 5 days! I must admit its was ok, we did enjoy the tour and the scenery was great did the whole Bedouin experience and night time entertainment :).
Morocco
It is so good to read that you have actually followed in our footsteps for a change....well Morocco anyway - we won't know the rest of your trip. We did buy a rug in the Medina but it was wrapped so tightly and small so was ok to carry with the vase from Venice! Would be different for you travelling in the truck! Travel safe. Love mum
Cute monkeys ;-) Hiya, totally love this entry. Never actually been to Gibraltar and but been to Malaga/Marbella (during season it's quite nice :-D). Looks like you had a great time and your pictures are awesome :-)
Truth behind the cannonballs. It is true that during the Stockholm bloodbath canons where fired. Hell, Stockholm has been under fire of canons many times in history. But the likelyness of the canonballs actually getting stuck in a way that looks remarkably esthetic in relation to the architecture is fairly low. The canonballs most likely either bounced or penetrated the walls of the buildings making a dent or hole, and years later, they were put up there on the buildings perhaps as a reminder of past conflicts and history.
Translation The sign announcess discounts for up to 70%. "Slut" roughly translates into "End" and "Rea" translates into "Discount". Even though the sign says that the store is on it's last days of giving discounts, some stores have "slut rea" all year long, making the whole thing dodgy.
St Markus Church I has been attended the Sunday Mass Service there in Jun 1993. I love the place. May Our Lord Jesus blessed all of you there.

Nice Place Dobro Sam Hi There, I as the name shown above would like to give a comments on your website. My opinion your website is very good where people around the world know your beautiful place like Makarska. For your information, I was there (stay at Meteor Hotel) during the war conflict in 1993. I came from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. I like your place very much. Send my best regards to my sister In Christ - Mss Dubroko. She stay not so far from Makarska bus station. We love Croatia and their peoples too.
Hi from Althea You two sound as if you had a magical time. I have a sister who lives in Wales, but I've never been to visit. It is certainly appealing!
Happy Retreat Plantation I noticed your first trip was to Happy Retreat Plantation. I had the pleasure of staying at Happy Retreat Plantation, Christmas 2006 as the owner is a very good friend of mine. It was my first trip to Jamaica and quite an impressive one too. I was blown away by the history, the home, the grounds and the breathtaking views of Happy Retreat. It was very nice to live off the land for the time I spent there. I took lots of photographs of which I have developed a website for the owner. I have attached the link, however, if the link is stripped and you are interested in visiting the website, you can email me.

I also visited the other places you have cited on your blog. Ocho Rios is a very beautiful town and the people are very friendly.
This is wonderfully described and I enjoyed reading about your advenures. I hope to visit someday. Thank you for taking the time to write and to post this incredible event.
After a 6 continent round the world trip in '07, we got home, milled around for a year and found we had yet another case of seriously 'itchy feet' and left home again in January 09 for another few years of travelling...... full info
