Tuesday September 29 This morning began at 7:00 with breakfast of eggs toast and English bacon, which is a lot like Canadian bacon. Or is it the other way around...probably so. Jerry had the whole day planned out perfectly. We sfarted out at Victoria Station, changed twice on the Tube then caught a hour and thirty minute train ride through the English countryside. The plans went off without any problem and we are now on the return trip from Stonehenge and Salisbury. We had lovely weather and sun all day. Stonehenge is an ancient site with giant stones erected in a circle. On solstice, the sun would shine between particular sets of stones and helped the ancient people with their calendar. The second stop was the town of Salisbury. In the cathedeal there is housed the English Magna ... read more

I have told some of you but others don't know yet... We are going to England, France, and Holland. We will tour the city and see the Rosetta Stone in the museum. In France, we will stay in an inn that was built in the 1600's pretty old, huh? Then we will go to a place called Tours and see the Chateau where Leonardo Da Vinci died. In Paris we will see all of the sights and take a cooking class...yum yum Since I am Dutch, Holland is an exciting visit for me. We plan to visit windmills, shop for ... read more
This first entry is a test... I want to see if i can post both text and photos, play with the maps etc. BEFORE we leave and I have to use some strange computer in London. Last year, we completed one more state on my quest to visit all 50. We went to Hawaii. Jerry had been there before but this was my first trip. The view of the rainbow is from our hotel window which was right across from Waikiki Beach. While we were there, we rode a jet ski, danced the hula, went to a luau, went parasailing, ove around the island, and had a lot of fun. One of the most AMAZING experiences was swimming with the turtles. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Let me know if you were here. Kristeen... read more
