Glad you enjoyed Bodrum. Did you get to the underwater museum near the castle? As I remember it was a joint venture wth the University of Texas. They had lots of amphora, some still filled with wine and oil that they had discovered along the Turquoise coast. Ah, memories!

Susan and Kevin - How fun to read of your travels. We were in Istanbul some years ago prior to our Regent years. This brought back good memories but we had a short time there. Always had hoped to get back. Just returned from our second Azamara Transtlantic, this time NYC to Rouen. We were on this ship the first year it was out when it was Renaissance to Scandanavia. We do miss Regent and miss you two a lot; however, this is quite a bit more affordable and still gives a lot of perks! Love and our best to both of you. Gladys and Nelson

I have really enjoyed going on your voyage with you via e-mail. We have been to most of these places with you in the past. One of our favorite tours of all was the Cruise Specialist sponsored private tour to Ephesus, Mother Mary's final home, etc. It was amazing. The sad part, is you will be getting off the Voyager when we go on it in South Hampton on June 3. We keep hoping there will be a change in your plans and you will stay on until Copenhagen. We will miss you. Thank you for including us in your mailings and keep us informed if you get to the St. Pete area at Christmas time this year. We may be able to join you for lunch or what ever. Hugs, Norm & Linda.

Say, what fun to get caught up with your goings on! You have really been hitting the old computer keys - for sure. As always, the text and pics were most enjoyable and informative. Isn't it great that we pick up so much trivial info in our travels. Watching "Jeopardy" just a couple of nights ago I was reminded of what a store of travel trivia is to be found in my "upstairs." Was able to answer a question that would have left me blank had I not just returned from a "roadie" trip with two buddies along the old Lincoln Highway. Lots of material for we "trivia gatherers" to be found along that old road. Your blogs always bring back wonderful memories. Fun seeing the Evil Eyes from Istanbul. Picked up several that make great Christmas tree ornaments while there a few years ago. On Sunday we are off to Bucharest. Can't wait to visit some new areas; places that are more or less off the beaten track, whilst gathering ever more trivia along the way. Congrats on your 39th! Say, you are only 21 years behind us! Don't forget to save the date: DECEMBER 8. Gonna be a REALLY BIG GATHERING at #7. Cheers to you both, and happy sails, and tales of sails. Carol Beck

We really enjoy your blog, it's almost like being there and we have been to many of these places. We really enjoyed this chapter written so eloquently. It was like reading part of a top 10 book. I have been feeling like I have been too long at home and now wish we could be in Italy with you. Brought back many memories. In Madera, just north of Fresno there was a restaurant names Lucca\'s ...they were from Lucca and we traveled there to see the family. Bicycled the wall and enjoyed the market and of course, the food. I remember Puccini\'s restaurant particularily. I have been intending to tell you about Naydia\'s trunk show being held in San Francisco. Actually it is on Carole and Wilfolds houseboat at #1 Kappa Marina, East Pier, in Sausalito on sunday, May 6th. I met Naydia in Bali at the recommendation of Dana, your assistant cruise director. What a beautiful home, surroundings and experience. Our driver ws awestruck by the experience and it was fabulous for all. I purchased a few jackets but like alot of things they don\'t translate as well to our lifestyle. However, I think I will pull out one today for fun. We have been watching the Giants, and hope we have a repeat meeting in San Francisco. Evy called last week and again talked about what fun we had. She has been suffering from vertigo since their trip on a National Geographic cruise. Actually they did see you in South America, I now remember. She was sent to a neurologist and I haven\'t heard the outcome. Told me that Marty Fine has passed.I got real chatty this a.m. and now I am off to a bridge lunchen in my Bali jacket!. The weather has been fab...rain here and there and the garden looks great. Saw the Griggs last week for more flowering bushes and Sydney was there and growing like their most beautiful plant.Happy Anniversay and continue to have the time of your life...even if you are in repeats!!!! FYI, the housing market has finally picked up and Doug has been very busy. I think it took over 6 years and things are definitely different in that field but we are happy we didn\'t miss it. Miss you and have a ball with your mushroom friends. lv, annette

those smiles are so much bigger when they are together. Our best to you both. I hope the springtime is wonderful to you. Easter is over those kids are goi g back to school! My girlfriend just went over to Rome for a three day layover and said the weather has been super. I'm having my annual reunion...18th...this week...9 of us in Arizona...the cacti might never be the same. Hugs and happy sailing to you both. Give our best to Jamie and Dana please. Happy Easter
We have enjoyed your blog so much and what a great way to keep up with you both. Since we have had such great weather this mini winter and spring we have enjoyed being home. We have our routine of working out, bridge, walking in preparation for the Big Sur walk the last sunday of april, gardening and seeing friends and family. The Griggs had quite a large advertisement in the Herald yesterday, sat. the 7th of april featuring the baby. Quite cute and thought you might be able to bring it up on the computer. I think I will keep it until we hear from you. Actually we went out there several times to purchase spring flowers. We will be going to Stillwater Cove at PB for Easter Brunch with friends and we will look out at the ocean and pretend we are at the table at the back of the ship eating with you. I wonder who your favorite hostess, waiter and sommelier is. We are receiving alot of cruise literature but nothing has turned our wallet!!!!!!! Had Kelly look up something for the Baltic Sea but sept is too soon. Will be taking Nathan and Hayley to Europe to do a WWII trip with Bryan. Nathan chose the itinerary and after flying into Paris we will do Normandy,Honfleur, back to Paris for a few days, on to Switzerland where we hope to ski at the Jungfrau.We will stay in Murren and look out on the Eiger and Munch. Toss in some extreme sports and then off to Germany. Sounds fun.What a different part of the world from what you have seen.Doug's getting his gear in order to go salmon fishing tomorrow. ..suppose to be a bumper crop of salmon this year. Hope to see you soon after your safe arrival home. Forgot when that will be. Any Glenmore sightings? Must find my easter eggs and get my hat on. While you are out cruising, we are doing some serious cheering for KU. We must not have yelled loud enough because they came in 2nd tonight. They have always been a come-from-behind team so I thought they might pull it off. They had a great season and were never expected to amount to anything. I will retire my KU shirt for another season. Waxing philosophical
I was very interested in your overall impressions of poverty, fences and the two worlds that seem to exist in S America. Interestingly, I had the same impression and comments regarding our African adventure. I think that these problems exist pretty much around the world and it all just serves to make us realize how fortunate we are to live in the good ol' US of A. Even at its worst, poverty here does not even begin to approach the depths that we have seen in our travels. I'm not sure what the answer is, but clearly this is a world issue that must either be resolved or else in the longer term it will crush the social structures as we know them. Nice to have some thoughtful consideration of the bigger issues -- it makes a change from cathedrals and castles! We share your enthusiasm for S America and have it in our sights for a future trip. Glad you enjoyed the S America experience -- enjoy the Med too!! We look forward to following your adventures from the comfort of our own living room!! Henry and Tessa

Glad to see you had a good time in Turgutreis. The Saturday market can get a little crazy, but one of my favourite past times is wandering around the food section, one of the best sights and sound expereinces of Turkey.
