U.S. & South America by Bike

This journal will chronicle our mishaps and generally poor decision-making during our bicycle expedtion from Whitefish, Montana, to Southern California, and then from Sucre, Bolivia into Western Argentina. For the North American leg, we plan to ride down the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route as far as Hartsell, Colorado, then veer southwest towards San Diego. From There, we pln to fly to Bolivia and continue riding. We figure this will be about 5,000 miles in total. Or we may just throw in the towel after a few days, leave our bikes on the side of the road, and buy plane tickets to Tahiti... actually, I'm not sure why we aren't doing that in the first place.
