Salutations, Please visit this link to see our most recent photos from our trip to Ayer an island north of Jakarta in the Java Sea. We succeeded in making it out of the city again even after a long staff meeting and a deadline to catch the one and only ferry. We ask you to go to this link because the quality of pictures is better and it is easier for us to use. When Krakatoa errupted in 1883 it was heard in Madagascar. For two years sunsets all over the world were a strange colour. It caused 40 cubic kilometers of rubble to sail through the air! Wow, so... we went and it was great.... read more

Kate and I have finished our first week of teaching. We are happy, tired and excited about what we are doing now and tomorrow. We can't wait to explore Java, so next weekend we are heading out of the city to the south shore at Pelabahanratu. Our classes are great, and I'm really proud of how well Kate is doing. She is so great at adapting and taking on challenges with a level head. As long as I have a supply of ice cream at the ready, I think she could take on the toughest of jobs possible. This weekend we are planning and planning. We hope to have two weeks of planning done by them end of tomorrow. Check out the new photos and let us know when we can talk on Skype. p.s.
