Bonjour! So as I sleep soundly, Mom is busy coming up with what we need to tell you all in our next blog. A little random thoughts to go with random pictures. 1) The first thing we wanted to share with you was an experience we had with our two friends from Israel (father and son). We wandered along the trail one day and came upon them with their little stove blazing and asked us if we would like to join them. We hesitated and Dan, the father asked if someone was waiting for us in Cormayeur? No we replied, who [View Full Entry]

Day 9, Glacier de Trient
Our tiny little room
Found a nice place to do some writing

Greetings from rainy Chamonix! We completed the tour yesterday and used our rain gear for the first time....for only about 10 minutes. We can not believe our good fortune....it is cool now, rainy and cloudy and as we look up, can not even see Brevent....2500 m above us were we stood yesterday. It was a long final day....over 9 hours and 2000m down. I think we are in shock a bit that we completed it and that everything went so well. We slept well last night and were at a loss this morning as there was no trail ahead of us! [View Full Entry]

PICTURES!!!!! Europe » Switzerland
So we have finally figured out that you have to sit here for hours to get photos up on the blog. So here they are. We are in Champex Switzerland right now and this is the largest town till the end of the tour. If weather permits we will be finishing the tour in 4 days and will be back to civilization in Chamonix France. Today was the easiest day of the tour at 4.5 hours. Kelley fulfilled her wish of a swiss cheese fondu which we discovered makes you feel like a cow. It was wonderful, white bread dipped in [View Full Entry]

Bonjour from France! I will be struggling to write as the letters are in different places on the key board! Well we started our trip with more waiting as the planes in both Vancouver and Amsterdam had a technical problem whatever that means. Luckily we were able to make up time in the air! We were delighted with the meal and beverages supplied. Arriving in Geneva our driver was waiting to wisk us off to Chamonix France. Our excitement was halted when we realized that no one had stamped our passports...were we in Europe illegally??? An American fellow assured us that [View Full Entry]

Hello all!!! well the day is FINALLY upon us and it has been going so slowly. Our flights leave at 6:55pm and when you wake up, due to excitement, at 6:00am, it makes for a long day of waiting. Our bags are packed, we have done some last minute running around and now we wait....and wait.....and still wait. The anticipation is what makes it so exciting when we finally start our journey but it is also quite painful. We did our last weigh in and after cutting down all the things I wanted to bring on the trip to the things [View Full Entry]
