Mountain Gorillas Just trying to figure out which is which??? Just kidding. Now, fun is over and it's back to work. Looking forward to seeing you soon!!
Zdravim z Prahy Ahoj Evo a spol,
myslim na Vas, uzivejte si a tesim se na obsahle povidani a fotky, pripadne nejaky specialni pokrm, ktery jste se naucili od mistnich. Drzim palce a ahoj doma.
What a party! Looks like you had a great party and I am sure the Czech potato salad was a big hit - it always is. I love all of the photos. Remember you can squeeze more photos (double the number) onto your memory stick if you change the resolution from 6.0 to 3.0. I would not go below 3.0 however. Love / Daddy
Malawian Delicacy Finally a plate of food, Mice on a stick, just wondering if there was finally something that P3 might pass on, but knowing him, he would find this to be the best dish he ever had, even if for a moment. But for you, you should try all items on the menu!!!!
Daniel Craig... ...is definitely my favorite Bond in a while. I'm not usually the biggest fan but I thought this one was pretty good. I liked the role reversal - this time it was James Bond we saw emerging from the water in a tight bathing suit!
Great Stuff! Hi Martina. Sorry, I've been rushing aroudn so much I only get to read your blog "en lumppe" every few days. Fascinating stuff -- can't wait to get there. Any tips on how to find you once I do? I should be leaving Lusaka on Sunday morning, but I have no idea how long the bus to Lilongwe takes. I'll try to call you from Lusaka when I get there.
haircut Ahoj! The haircut looks great! Just a small FYI... :)
I love all of the pictures and the great updates! Thank you for keeping us all updated all of the time! It's so great to hear from you and to find out about everything you're doing. good times.
Good luck with traveling to the camp yourself! I hope the ride won't be too terrible for your bum. :)
Yes, horribly stinky While they're dry, that is. I had a bag of them (double-bagged, actually) on the patio at work to take to a refugee at the camp, at least 10 feet away from me, and I had to put them outside they smelled so bad. But here they rehydrate them before cooking so the really nasty foot smell goes away - maybe they don't rehydrate them in Nigeria?
stinky dried fish are those little fish stinky? does the smell of them permeate the whole house? i am just wondering if your dried fish experience is at all similar to mine. in which case, i am impressed that u can get them down.
Comments??? I had alot of comments, but after review, prior to posting, I knew they would be edited by the comment police, so I deleted them. I'm just happy you finally got some sort of pic in for P3. He was getting a little edgy about not seeing any plates of food.
Cooking nsima It is really hard. I have a video of Mada making it which I didn't post because it was too dark in the little cooking shed, but stirring it to the right consistency takes a lot of muscle. It doesn't take too long though. I think I could probably make it but it would take a couple of tries before I could get the right texture!
p.s. you look way more asian than me!
That's true, BB! Nsima is actually a lot like grits, only much runnier. And more bland, since it's not made with lard or any seasoning, just boiling purified water.
Comment police I almost blocked your comment, Muscles, but in the interest of a free exchange of ideas on this very important forum I am letting it stand.
:)
Czech / Texan Haha - I have never known people thought you might be Iraqi or Pakistani...
But i've been asked always if i'm asian, or part asian (by asians!)... it's funny.
Nsima sounds very interesting! Would you be able to make it again? It's probably a lot of work though - since you have to stir it until it's doughy... i want to try it though!
No rain! Literally...even when it looks like it's about to thunder and pour, which it does occasionally, it will not rain. Not until September! Lucky timing for me :)
ha ha! Steve! It is so nice to hear from you, glad you're keeping up with us on the blog. Josh is in the midst of a pretty hectic training schedule down in Paraguay, so he has precious little internet time which he saves to skype me. I am sure he will get into the blogging groove soon though.
An expat is someone from abroad who has made a home here.

More videos! I love all of your little videos! They're so neat! I loved the one where you're just walking down the street in the market... amazing!
I'm glad to see that you're getting used to it. :)
