Travel Dining I see, after that vacation in South Africa, and a rather generous dining out budget, you are now coming into a reality zone. Mysteriously, there are no dinner pics for P3 to ponder over.
awesome work! hi martina, love reading your blog daily,it is fascinating, so glad i can share your experience, please keep it up,getting a whole new perspective on life!travel safe, zettie,s a
Calling Paraguay You should still be able to use Skype, but depending on where he end up. There are internet cafes in some larger towns so hopefully you will be able to keep in touch with Josh. The connection might not be great - considering the internet connection is dial-up. At least is something!
GREAT JOURNAL MARTINA, YOUR OBSERVATIONS ON AFRICA, YOUR TRIP AND THE REFUGEE CAMP ARE SO INTERESTING AND THE PICS ILLUSTRATE YOUR STORY SO WELL. THIS IS A TREASURE.
Bata You can go to any corner of the earth, and those damn Czechs will be there!!!!! Bata has been in Southern Africa for at least 20 or 30 years, maybe longer.
Love it! Both the haircut (it's very Naomi Watts) and your detailed account. I think you should forget law and concentrate on writing for Gourmet Magazine. I admit that I was a little tenatious about the trip until I started reading -- now I can't wait to go! (Your writing is much more inspiring than Lonely Planet).
martina, i really enjoyed reading about your travels. keep them coming. i wish i was you.so exciting. you look great how ever your hair is cut. say hi to josh for me when you talk to him. hopfully he will be travelbloging to.

Knysna Love this town, but especially the areas surrounding. Birding is great here, especially the Knysna Louire and the Paradise Flycathcer, if you are into that sort of thing. I always try to make it here. Too bad you didn't contact Delayno, he has a girlfriend there.
more comments! I did that trip alone and totally relate. When I was in Spain by myself, I was really into being alone for three days, then I got really lonely, but by day five or six, I was really into it again and was for the rest of the trip. Just try to meet people, get up early, write in your journal a lot, take lots of pictures and remember that you are getting to do the EXACT trip that YOU want to do. No compromising! That's what's nice about being alone. Take care, be safe, have a wonderful time, I miss you! K
Mama Africa and NOT a newscaster! I went to Mama Africa while I was in Cape Town (upon my new Cape friend's recommendation) and they played songs from the Lion King while British high school girls shrieked along. BUT the food was great and the band was great. Have you eaten ox tail? It's really good actually. AND, I said that when the hairdresser blows out your hair, it looks like a newscaster but that once it settles you look like a French poet. I might not have said that last bit out loud, but it's true. Have a wonderful time!
This si so good! Josh, you've missed your calling. You should be a freelance travel writer (like I wish I was). When you can write like that, who needs money?
ah, Vilca. Hey guys -- I used to work at Izhcayluma (in 2005, from December - April), and lived in Vilcabamba for 6 months... it was absolutely idyllic!!! I have quite a few pictures, which I can forward to you if you like (write me at gelogenic@hotmail.com).
Best ever.

personal view points looks like beauty and beast, with no further clarification. Josh seems like the literal laid back type, only thing missing is the remote on a couple of pics. the mandatory cuisine pics for dad are there, still looking for my hummingbird pic. hope to see you when you are in Houston. keep well
Yes Dad I did spend two days on a horse in Big Bend, and I was not any more graceful this time around but had a great time anyway. Despite Martina"s incessant laughter at my riding.
loving the pics great pics, really enjoyed the plant pictures, big diff. between myself and p.z., he's more interested in what's on the plate, have a great time, looking forward to getting verbal info, when you get back.
Who Knew? That ride sounded and looked spectacular! It's great you were able to hook up with Gavin and hear his stories and learn about the history of the place all while riding horses and camping out. Sounds like a great memory was made!
ya'll are so damn lucky i'm so jealous of ya'll! I totally wish I could just take off work for weeks at a time and go travelling.
Enjoy your time - ya'll deserve it! :)
