Today we drove from Hokitika up to Westport stopping at the Pan cake rocks along the way.We checked into our hostle and then headed up to Karamea so I could show Chris and Kim the caves and Limestone arch in the Oparara basin. We were lucky because there was really nobody there to bother us so we got time to take a few good picures in the caves with the glow worms.... read more

Today we drove from Te Anau to Milford sound. This time I was raining pretty hard and there was water falls every where. It really looks like a different place in the rain. After Chris and Kim went on there tour around the sound we got back in the car and headed to Queenstown. It rained so hard on the way back that I almost had to pull over because the wipers couldn't clear it off fast enough.... read more

The last 3 days we were in Queenstown. Chris and Kim wanted to do some Bungi jumping and the Lord of the Rings tour along with some other stuff around town. We left Mt Cook this Am and headed south for a bit on our way to Christchurch. Along the was we stopped and checked out some Mauri drawing on a cliff. They had been weathered pretty bad and weren’t that visible. We also stopped and saw the elephant boulders. They are some rocks that have been weathered over thousands of years and are just in the middle of a field. You can find fossles of sharks teeth and shells in most of them. After that we headed to Moeraki to see some boulders that were along the coast line. They have been rolled into almost perfect balls over the years and then washed out of the cliffs by the waves. They are pretty neat and almost the same as the ones in Galligers canyon just ALOT ... read more

Today Chris, Kim, and I left for Dunedin. We took the main Highway and wow is it boring. Pretty much like driving thru Alberta for 3 hours. We got to Dunedin in time to see most of the sights around town. We went and drove up Baldwin St which is the steepest street in the world. We also went to the look out point over the city and took a few pictures. Chris and Kim booked a tour of the Cadbury Chocolate factory and I went back to the hostle and made something to eat. After we all ate me headed out to see the Blue Penguins come in after fishing all day. We ended up waiting for about 2 hours before they came in and then there was so many people there that you couldn’t ... read more

Today we left Dunedin and took the southern scenic route to Invercargill. It was a nice drive until 60km outside of Invercargill and then it was straight flat roads and I could have slept until we got into town. There isn’t much to do in Invercargill so we went to Bluff which is the southern most point on the south Island so that I could say I have been to the top and bottom of Both islands. There is also Stewart Island but the ferry there cost $120 and I just don’t care to pay that much just to see another Island. After Bluff we headed back to Te Anau to stay the night so we could go to Milford sound in the Morning. Chris and Kim booked a trip to see the glow worms across ... read more

Today we got some new tires for the car. The back ones were warn right out and Niv actually popped one on the way to Queenstown. After that we stopped at puzzle world just outside of Wanaka. It is a huge maze outside and inside it is filled with optical illusion art and strange things like that. After that it was up to Mt. Cook. Along the way is a really nice Lake called Lake Tekapo that you follow almost the whole way to Mt Cook.... read more

We found out that there was camping for $30 for the night of the 30th and 31st so be took that because it was the only place left to stay. Good thing we brought our tents. Lol The 30th was a nice day although I never really did much. On the 31st it started to rain in the afternoon and wow did it come down. By the night most of the tents in the park we floating.
