With a few days left in the trip, a tear in the eye, but excitement in the heart to return home...we write the final chapter. DEAR BOLIVIA First off, a word on bolivia. Wonderful people, super friendly and beautiful scenery. After spending some time visiting the different cities in the altiplano (highlands) We headed to the capital of La Paz, a crazy city built in the depths of a giant crater. We met a band from argentina in La Paz that plays traditional folklore music, spend a few days hanging out with them in the hostal, learning some tunes on the charango and checking out their concert. After the cold nights in La Paz we decided to hike from the mountains down an old inca road that drops about 3000 meters down to the jungle. This ... read more

Hi everyone, Days, weeks, months have passed and I cannot remember where we left off last. This continent becomes more and more intriguing everyday, the people, the culture, the landscape............I dont know how Ill ever leave. Leaving Argentina was bitter sweet!! Excited to make our way into Bolivia but, sad to leave some amazing friends we met along the way in the North of Argentina. The Quebrada Humahuaca, in Northern Argentina is a painters pallete of color on Barren Hillsides. Where we met a argentinan couple our age travelling and camping like us: We spent a week together camping, cooking dinner, exploring the area, and exchanging information about our cultures and lifestyles. (we learnt to make some tasty traditional meals) including membrillo pastellitos, a delicously filled pastry. yummy. Again heading North into an enormous Valley ... read more

Hi everyone, I hope all of you are fantastic!!!! Miss you all and cannot believe that its the first of May already.....these last few months have just flown by and Im sure the next to come will go by even faster. We are in the province of mendoza right now, still in Argentina. Its absolutley gorgeous here as it is fall and the leaves a turning brilliant colours as they tend to do as the season changes, feels like home except for the cactus plants. Right now we are volunteering on a local Organic farm outside of the city of Mendoza which we are loving. The people here are so inviting and patient when it comes to us trying to explain ourselves through our broken spanish. There is only one rule on the farm...and that ... read more

To Tierra del Fuego, the ´land of fire´ Disclaimer: It has been two months since we updated this blog...if anyone has tried to check it since then...sorry to dissappoint. But here comes the long anticipated two months in brief (hopefully brief..) summary. We´ve basically been doing a two month national parks tour, hiking a lot and sleeping in our tent about 40 of the past 60 nights. From a small town in argentina called Junin de los andes we made our way out to Parque nacional Lanin, a beautiful series of lakes that lie beneath the impressive shadow of Volcano Lanin. We found a spot to camp with a series of mini cliffs to jump off into the clear, crisp water below. We cruised rapidly through a touristy town called bariloche, complete with a giant ... read more

well, heres a little update for you all. Our last days in Peru ( for now) were spent in the incredible depths of the canon del colca( worlds second deepest canyon short by 100 meters from being the deepest), exploring the many enchantments of what nature has instore for us if only we take the time to look. trekking up and down the forever increasingly steep canyon switchbacks, watching the condors( huge native birds) soaring above, watching to local peoples with their burros trotting, humming through their daily lives, camping at the very depth of the canyon, swimming in the river at the bottom listening to the roar of the river, feeling as small as an ant............... There are really no words to describe the enchantment of that place. At the moment we are in santiago ... read more

Hi guys, just thought I´d send a little note to all of you. so, where to begin.........we spent Christmas and New Years on a farm in Ecuador which was amazing. The farm was deep in the * Valley of Longevity* near Vilcabamba, Ecuador, about a 1 and a half hour hike up into the mountains. The views from the farm were breathtaking and the mix of people we met will be forever memorable. Jay and I learned to build walls and shelves from Cob, *clay and water mixed with straw, sugar cane.....and in this case also, plactic garbage that needed to be recylced* and jumped feet first into a project....literallly we mixed the mud with our bare feet. We also, learned alot about organic farming, which intrigued us and found us both working up a sweat ... read more

Hi everyone!! It has been exactly a week since we left Toronto but it feels like weeks. So many things have happened that its hard to keep track of the days gone by :) Lima itself is a mix between extreme poverty and wealth, which is evident eveywhere you turn. Leaving us with a mix of emotions as we left the airport on our way to our hostel. Exploring Lima was exciting, the city is a buzz of energy all day long. Everyone is either taking a taxi or hopping on the bus (cambis), which are hilarious little buses, that stop anywhere on the street to pick people up. Even in the middle of intersections!!! all, you have to do is wave in their direction and they will stop immediatley for you, its crazy. We took ... read more
