Hi Amazing photos as usual! My favourite is the little boys brushing their teeth :) Enjoy Bahrain! Mind you... you're probably in Greece by now..... xo
Sidetracked I came into school to do some work and noticed on my emails a notification of a new blog. Got sidetracked so easily!! You will never be the same after these experiences! What amazing interaction you are having with locals.
Cambodia Hey! Thanks for tips Mark. We were only going to stay 3 days in Cambodia but are extending to 6 or so cos we are loving it. Yeah i see in lonely planet they recommended jasmine guesthouse (but guess you stayed there for the name!). we are in one down a side street near old market. its great! don't know if we can make phnom penh, but hopefully! thanks for ideas, sounds fun!
Cambodian recommendations Hey guys! Funny to hear you had similar experiences to Jaz and i in Thailand - ladyboys etc. In cambodia check out Aki Ra's landmine museum - the silk factory, eat a silk worm (actually do taste like chicken) A puppet show - Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. We stayed at the Jasmine Guesthouse, nice place to kip! (its in the lonely planet. Thats all in Siem Riep. Phnom Peng i can only recommend not to stay at No9. Guesthouse - too many dudes smoking weed (and not from the lake type). Cant wait to hear your stories about it!
Hi Lindon was quite taken aback with the difference between Matt in his first Australia photo and in the ones from this blog. Maybe you should sell your E-Coli secret to Jenny Craig!!
Looks like great experiences - I love the elephant riding. Have a good time in Cambodia :)
Thai Highs - and lows Oh well done both of you, true kiwi resilience apparent here!! You've managed to make the most of your Thai experience by the sound of this, good to see you reaching such heights (even if it is with the help of your friendly elephant) after such a low patch. Enjoy your last week in Asia, Europe not far off now. Love Ngaire.
Asia Just as well clothing is cheap in Thailand so you can replace the "fat pants' with skinny ones. More wonderful photos and some great experiences. Some stories here for my TRTM classes who enjoy the installments. They loved the ladyboys sign of the last blog and will love the boy peeing story.
Kevin's Thai thoughts Hi guys. Great to read your blog and see the lovely photos
You say the pollution is bad. Is this before or after Matt added his personal form of pollution on no less than 4 times on the boat trip!
Ladyboys!!! I've lived such a sheltered existence
It's neat to hear how it's going, so keep the blogs coming.
Love from Kevin
P.S. Janey, how do I send this now?
DVDs Haha, sounds good. I know some of the ones that my friend bought back from Thailand had people walking in front of the screen cos it was just a guy with a video camera haha
hello Thanks guys. oh yeah lady boys....everywhere! they are promoted for shows and things but it didn't really interest us. Kath yeah just check lunar calendar to try and avoid the full moon party time (unless you wanted to go). The water is truly amazing. And alisha, we could really contribute to your dvd watching - they are $1 each here so when we miss western things we just buy one. Will see if we can find some you'd like!
Wow Such stunning places and such wonderful photos. I love the sexist sign outside the restuarant. Am going to use it as a starter for a discussion in Social Studies. My TRTM kids will love it too - ladyboys will really get them going.
yay jane, you can tell us all we wanted to know! (without relying on dodgy internet sites). it looks so beautiful its crazy, especially maya bay! Was the island with the full moon party fully booked? we will be there for that in november and everyone said its pretty hard to get accomodation etc, so good to know thats true! xx
Hi Nice effort guys - pretty well done for being sick! Happy Birthday Matty - hope you have a good one and enjoy the flash place you are staying at the moment. Mum showed me the website :)
I'm still home sick today - up to my 6th DVD haha!
Southern Thailand Spectacular scenery, what about the water!! Your photos are so clear, postcard quality. Malay Bay certainly looks appealing, great for the movies! You certainly captured a lot on camera despite your health problems, well done!! Love to you both, from Ngaire,xx
our first google travel blog experience hi guys mum gave us your site contact for info on cairns .we are off there for 3 weeks in july/august.very usefull info thanks. carried on with your blog and feel like we have travelled malaysia with you, lots of love, enjoy it all. heather
Hi!!! Hi you two, we've just been reading your blog, great photos and sounds like you are doing a lot of stuff and having a good time (apart from stomach bugs and homesickness, hopefully both will pass!). We are in Port vila now and are off to the outer islands tomorrow, if we make it back to civilisation aolraet we'll surely read more on your blog, hopefully more great stories and keep up the good work with the pics.... Enjoy!
Hi Gutted about the food poisoning! I was reading in the paper the other day that they have formulated this 'Delhi Belly' vaccine. Apparently its a little patch you put under your arm that delivers a small amount of E-Coli into your system, so that your body can learn to fight it off. It's meant to reduce the probability of food poisoning by about 75%. A few weeks too late aye!!! ;)
Hope you're having a great time in Thailand! :)
Hi More fascinating reading. A hint: avoid chicken - it is decidely dodgy in Asia. Plain rice and bananas work better when the stomach is churning.
I can't believe how cheap the accommodation is - will give you more money to spend in Europe. Great photos again - poor Matt looks miserable. Trust you are both back to normal now. Just think of it as collecting a few more antibodies.
When you know when you are arriving in Canada let us know. Dad will be there at the beginning of October. (Meetings at a stunning spot called Cedar Springs? just over the border in the US.) He will fly in and out of VAncouver.
As always - heaps of love to you both.
great photos What a fab.time you're having. You have an amazing collection of beautiful photos. Thanks to Marg for connecting us up to the Bloggers.
Hi to the NZ gang, too!love, Anthea
Hi Hi guys,
I look forward to these so much - I check the website about 3 times a day hahah!
I can't wait to travel! The girls at work are blown away by the photos - they said it looks just like out of a travel magazine!
I've printed your blogs out (at work because it was 60 pages haha) and am taking them to Grandma tomorrow. A good hour worth of reading I think!
Great blog! Hey, I just wanted to drop a line and say great blogs! I've really enjoyed reading the past few places you guys have traveled. And your pictures are so inspiring! Keep up the great work :)
How cool guys - it also sounds like so much fun, this was the highlight of my study intensive day - especially the photo of matt swinging that little boy around, hehee.
Fun! Loved reading this. Great to see you are having the real cultural experiences - the people contact memories are the ones that you won't forget. They don't cost money but they are the most valuable.
