WOW!!! Holy cow, those are some beautiful shots! Very jealous!
And I imagine it was nice to get to the cool, rarefied air of the Alps after your little heat wave and rain system...
And can I say, you look fantastic!

The Alps Jed thank you for your nice comments. Salzburg was great and it was nice to be out of the heat. On the second day there was a fair bit of time looking out the window wondering weather the rain would stop, but it did and I had a great time.

I am reading your blog and loving it! Hi Jeff, Shannon sent the link to your blog to me and I am having so much fun reading it. Don't feel too bad about the pick pocket, those guys are good and tried to get me three times in four days that I noticed. You are living my dream and I am tempted on a daily basis to do the same! For now, I love the pics and commentary and I am living vicariously through you. What's next for you after travelling?
I read you blog! First of all, I hope I was among the dozen.
For what it's worth, I read your blog because (i) I miss you, so it's fun to "hear" your voice, (ii) you are going to interesting places, and doing interesting things, (iii) I may someday want to go to the places you are, and (iv) you are a keen observer of humanity, and I enjoy hearing your observations.
I say all of that, because I don't want you to start crafting your blog to pander to the masses. I greatly appreciated the train travel entry, and your blog would suffer if you self-censored.

The Blog Jed
Thanks for your nice comments. Yeah I did figure you would be a reader of the blog. I am also pleased you liked the train blog, and in case you did not notice, today's blog drove some traffic to the train blog. Also I think your are right about the "voice" of the blog. I believe the blog does sound like me. I have tried, rather successfully I think, to track my own verbal cadences. Finally, I would never write for the masses. I write about things i am interested in, and let's be honest, I want to be Joss Wheadon, not Steven Spielburg. Thanks again for the comment.
I agree with Lisa; toss all your summer travel clothes before you get on the plane home.
Keep the blogs coming. We are waiting with baited breath for the next post. I renew my request for more JJF pix.
New shirt Hi Jeff! Great blogs! As the family laundry expert I suggest when you get to the airport to fly home discard of all dirty clothes! Time for some new ones! And I have a connection for a new SLU T-shirt!!!!!!!
Laundry That may not be the worst idea in the world. Although they are always "cleanish" the few sets of clothes I have along (2 shorts, 6 shirts (now 5), 5 socks and 5 boxers) have taken a beating.
British Accent Before this is all over I may start using a British accent. That being said, who wants a continental breakfast of rolls and jam, when you can have a proper English Breakfast of eggs, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast.
I love trains See, it wasn't just for your birthday that I posted, I am reading your blog today! Anyways, these trains sure beat the Hiawatha (which by the way recently cut food service).
Mrs. Popular Matriarch of the Brown Family?! Oh who am I kidding, she runs that household. We actually ran into a guy who went to her high school when we were in the DC metro and I thought that was a small-world experience. I never knew my mom was so popular.
Jeff likes to travel and more importantly he likes to write witty little blogs about his travels. His blogs are generally factual, but certain names, places and/or events have been changed to protect the innocent (or to punctuate a joke). Jeff thinks he is funnier than he is, and he has an unattractive habit of referring to himself in the third-person, or, even worse, as JJF. The spelling mistakes are real (JJF is not trying to be funny, he really is misspelling those words). And the stories? Well the stories go on ... and on ... and on ..., but what is truly annoying, what makes people r... full info
