Parcel Hey MoJo, just to let you know I posted a parcel today with a few goodies for the kids. It will probably take 15 days to get to you sent it by snail mail as it was quite heavy. You doing a fab job babe. hugs dee
question + love the pics! Hi Joanna,
It's cindy collins from your previous place of employment (must seem a world away, now!)... I just wanted to say I love reading your blog, thank you for posting all these interesting stories. You rock!!!
Also, I wanted to send something for the kids, but then I thought it might be easier to contribute money toward your charity funds, that way you can buy whatever they need most (or heavy things like paper, that are hard to ship) - is there someone I could send a check to, that could deposit it into your account? (My e-mail is cynthiac@(work)).
You go, girl!!!
:o) cindy
(btw let us know if you want us to send you some mosquito repellant...)
Parcel Hey Jo. Planning to send a parcel of stuff for the school. Has anyone from the UK sent anything? If so by what means, general post, courier etc. Hugs dee x
Hello From San Diego Just so you remember me I will say "How are youuuuuuuu?" in my best scottish accent.
John Davies showed me your blog and I will watch your progress closely.
I think this is a really great thing you are doing. I hope to muster the courage to do something similar in my lifetime.
Hey!! Hi Joanna - here's me thinking my Trans Siberian trip was pretty out there! Reading your blog helps me keep all the day to day crap in perspective - keep it comin! xx
OMG Yum yum - I am really hungering after Ugali. Must remember to make some for the family - maybe after the graduation next week. I am cooking fish, chips and veggies just now - which would I like - Hmmm? Think about it. As for frogs in the socks - that beats lizards on the arm I reckon. I bet there was much shreiking and mayhem at that one. You sound like you are really working very hard - I hope you are taking care of yourself as well. Have a great time at the lodge - I am so envious. I keep looking art flights tpo see if I can get out again before you leave but they are so expensive it s not going to happen. Mike back now so will go and eat the DINNER. Love to all H
donations Joanna~ Have you received any packages yet using the address you provided? What are the sizes of the kids...do you have any idea? They look really young...are they all around a small/medium size for kids?
I loved the story about the puzzle box!
Yo Jo Hey Jo,
Nice to see your bloggy thing. Quite surprised I managed it actually. Me being the technophobe that I am. Just came back from Arran yesterday actually. Hadn't bee there since that ever so drunken time on that New Year. It really is lovely. Looking forward to hearing more about your exploits in Africa. Well Done, you!!

stuff to send Hey Joanna~ What sort of candy do you think will last for the shipment out to Africa? Gum? Hard candy only? Any specific requests? Also, how many kids are there again? I wouldn't want to leave anyone out...
Thanks for the updates!! Gina :)
Wow... sounds like very rewarding work. Well done, Jo. And, my... you've got quite a base tan going. Just a few more shades and you'll blend right in! Thanks for the address.
An Acknowledgement I just want to say that I would like to acknowledge the generosity of all our friends and colleagues who donated money and items towards supporting this project as well as others. I think that it is important that people not directly connected with what is happening in Tanzania feel that their part, however small, is recognised and valued. So thanks everyone and I look forward to hearing about the grand opening
Address Joanna - I love reading about your work - keep it coming. Is the address above really where we can send packages - as then I would feel like I am a part of your work there.
Thanks for taking on the world and your great stories.

How's the mad house? How are things in the place of the sheep and the bulls that fight. We are really missing all the BB action - it seems very quiet back here in wet UK. Trying to sort out pix at the moment. Have been in touch with Mariah about all the happenings and weird outs in the house. How is the health of everyone???????? Is Lisa still spotty? Can't shift the rotton cold I came home with - which snotty individual passed it to me I wonder? Plenty to choose from I reckon. How are the new volunteers getting on at Faraja. Do tell them to contact us if they need any help or suggestions. Would love to hear how things are, especially with Luta. Still looking into how best to sponsor him safely - that the money goes to him and not into someone else's pocket. Problem to be sorted. Write soon. Take care. Love to al. Helen
Stuff Are you in one place to where we could send you a package that you might actually get? If so, what's an address? Also, Christina Wedell just got back to SD from Paraguay... so happy to have her home. All's well here... miss you!

Good job! Joanna~Nice work Ms. Principal. Sounds like the school is definitely progressing well. Thanks for keeping up the pictures too! I always look forward to reading your blog. Be safe and don't let the lions or lizards get you. ;)
Very excited for your adventure Hi Joanne,
Looks like you are a natural for your adventure. It is very cool that you are doing this ... and we get to live it vicariously with you in more domestic conditions.
Things here are about the same ... gray mornings, sunny afternoons.
If it is possible to send you things, please let me know if there is anything that you would like from San Diego.
Take care and good luck!
Cheers,
Lee
Amazing Joanna, what an amazing thing your doing out there. I keep reading your blogs and just laugh at all the crazy stuff that has been happening to you. Its like reading a tarzan show :) You are really making a difference :)
Hi
I am a 28 year old female from Scotland. Having lived and worked in the States for the past 5 or 6 years, I am preparing to embark on a 9-month trip to East Africa. I will be volunteering in 3 different countries, for 3 months in each. In Tanzania - at Sharom Orphan Centre. In Uganda - on an Outreach-to-children program. In Malawi - at the Monkey Bay Community Hospital. A life-changing adventure awaits! I am recording this adventure for memories for myself and for entertainment and/or information on my experiences and whereabouts for anyone else who is interested! Wish me luck!... full info
