Financial Assistance Hi Jo,
I absolutely am able to help financially, and I'm sure some of my friends and family members would be more than happy for the opportunity as well. Please let me know how to get some money to you!
xo,
Mindy
See you in Arusha Hey little sister - I have to return to Arusha in the spring so maybe we will harvest together - something to plan for. Fund raising beginning to take shape for Faraja - writing an OUT of Africa quiz to post on the internet which apparently can raise money regularly so any one who wants to take part get in touch. Beep or speak soon Have a safe trip. LOL
All I can say is 'wow' When I was in college, I studied the Maasai in a Sociology class...and there you are living it! So amazing...thank you for sharing the experience! I can practically smell that goat now...
goat innards! Hey Joanna, Denise finally sent me the link to your blog so I thought i would take a quick look. I certainly wasnt expecting the blood drinking and goat innards! It certainly puts my intended trip to San Diego in 3 weeks time in its place, but I'll think of you when I'm next in Cass Street for a "real drink". Anyway, I'm sure you're having a fantastic time and I hope it continues that way. Its something most people will never experience (myself included as that entry has completely scared me off!). Speak to you soon and good luck!!

Hippy?? Oh no... I worry for your mum, Jo. In one picture you have on a red tank top and a long flowy skirt. I know how much your mum fears you turning into a hairy hippy so I must insist on armit check... shaved or unshaved???
Gross Ewww.. I felt sick just reading about The Goat Incident. I cannot imagine being in your situation and not barfing profusely. Way to be respectful, Jo. Ewwww.....!
Loves Me Some Goat The next time I cannot figure out what to make for dinner I will go with goat. All of it.
I am unsure if Iowa Meat Farms sells this, but I can always head out to the Ramona area for fresh goat.
Hello from Gen-Probe Hi Joanna! Figured it was time to say hi to you! I finally have some time to look at your wonderful journey. What an adventure! You are my hero...
Thanks so much for the drawings from your kids. Everyone here really enjoyed them. Thanks for not forgetting your work buddies.

Me too! Hey Joanna, I look at a map of the world whenever I read your blogs and it seems a smaller place. I always look forward to reading your adventures, and having a window on Africa through your pictures.

Thanks for the update! Hey Joanna! Thanks for posting--I'm so glad I've found your blog! Crazy about Joakim...so sorry you have to go through that. I'm sorry to hear about Jenn and Kili, too--I know how much reaching the summit meant to her. Stupid Tanzanian mountains!! :) Have a GREAT extra month in Tanzania (Zanzibar included!), and if Helen's there now, tell her I said hey!! :) ~Lisa
Teddies all packed On my way on Tuesday so let's kick some ass as they say. Can't wait to see you again - more crying and a whole load of laughing no doubt. Got a case full of teddies - of the bear variety - and puzzles and not a lot else. Chocolate, cereal bars, camera charger, contact lens solution make up the rest - hope i'm not searched cos this could be hard to explain.
Let's pull together Hi all Joannna's friends etc,
I am returning to Arusha next week with the same concerns about Joanna's and my projects. We will put our heads together and see what we can come up with - my mind is buzzing with possibilities and I would like to suggest that anyone out there who knows anyone who would be prepared to sponsor LETOA/Faraja projects long term shouold make contact with one or other of us before I leave the UK Tuesday 14th. My thinking is that if there was a business - perhaps a travel company or health concern who would be prepared to invest what is actually not a huge amount of money to keep these projects running long term we would administer the money ourselves to ensure that it was used correctly and not mis-spent by the adults on the make. This is a problem throughout East Africa and is hard to stomach sometimes. If we all put our heads together maybe we can sort something out quickly, whilst Joanna is still in the country. I would love to take over the management of both projects as I had considered setting up my own ethically run project in the future - but this could work if we think positively.
I can be contacted via email - helen.livingwithloss@ntlworld.com - or on the telephone - 0044 (0)116 2784689 - leave a message if I don't pick up - it's my work phone so can't speak when counselling. I have fingers crossed - dark chocolate, cereal bars, camera charger etc. packed and ready to go.
Love Helen
Hi
I am a 28 year old female from Scotland. Having lived and worked in the States for the past 5 or 6 years, I am preparing to embark on a 9-month trip to East Africa. I will be volunteering in 3 different countries, for 3 months in each. In Tanzania - at Sharom Orphan Centre. In Uganda - on an Outreach-to-children program. In Malawi - at the Monkey Bay Community Hospital. A life-changing adventure awaits! I am recording this adventure for memories for myself and for entertainment and/or information on my experiences and whereabouts for anyone else who is interested! Wish me luck!... full info

I Want To Help
I would like to help. I just need an address. Also, do I send a check, money order, or wire the money?
