thanks
Hi Ren, thanks for the note, I really appreciate it. It's funny that I originally started writing the blog to keep my friends informed of my antics when I was away in 2011.... Along the way, I've been touched and amused by the amount of people that have read them and made contact.... Are you planning a trip here one day? It's an awesome place... Have a great day... Rob

Hi lovely lady, it's all good so don't worry... I'm loving being here - as you no doubt realise... My account is BOQ, they have one main BSB which is something like 001-024 (can never remember it), and the a/c is 93 105158...thanks in advance for your kindness, xx Also, it cracks me up that we went to all that effort to get coloured dangly things and the tree was gone....today we will have 2 new trees for them - yea My account is BOQ, I cannot recall BSB but they use one main one which is something like 001-024 ...my a/c number is 93 105158, pls make sure you put yr name in the details so I know it's from you...thanks heaps in advance, and big hugs.... Hi Robyn, so sorry for my insensitivity. I obviously didn't read your first entry thoroughly. Not being on FB I didn't see your call for donations, but let me know how I can contribute too. Keep having fun xo

Sounds great...
I'm so pleased you're having such a wonderful time right from the word go. The delay at Brisbane airport must have been to prepare you for this wonderful time ahead. Keep enjoying and having fun, stay safe. Any chance you and Luc could meet up again?! He sounds like he's got your heart. Looking forward to more entries and photos of painted toenails ;)

Luc
Hi Sylvi, I did two blogs and had a bit of trouble in the sending of the first one titled "Bitter Sweet"......in it I explain about Luc, and how he committed suicide last year...we became friends and he was just one heck of a nice guy... I only found out what happened about 6 weeks ago... Having a great time though...

Welcome home
I hope you have now had time to sleep and recover from your fabulous holiday. Have you been to the doctor re your foot & shoulder? I bet it was fabulous to sleep in your own bed etc. When you feel back to your old self, we must catch up. So happy to know you are back safely.. Love Fay

Catch up
Hi Robyn. This is Tony (Jim and Vons mate, from Brissie) we met in Phnom Pehn. Hope you had a wonderful trip. It sure looks like it. Would love to catch up for a drink some time to hear all about the rest of your trip. I have nearly finished a TEFL course, which I started as soon as we got home, and would be very interested hearing all about your experiences of teaching OS.

Sounds great
Your time in SR sounds like a good combination of work and being a tourist able to soak up the atmosphere of the place. It sounds like a more relaxed place then PP and not getting too attached to the SR kids is probably better for you in the long run. Makes it easier to say goodbye. But if you love the place so much, I'm sure you could find a way to return after your European trip. You've got a few contacts there now so they could help?! I love the photos you enclosed. It certainly looks like an interesting place. Hope the rest of your stay continues to be really enjoyable and your foot and shoulder completely heal before you set off walking Europe with boots and heavy jackets on. Stay safe, have fun. Lots of hugs and kisses. Sylvi xo

Both in the wars
You poor thing with your foot but luckily it's not broken. Wishing you a speedy recovery. My return to Brissy has been good and bad. Good because it was great to return and the weather has been mild. Bad because I thought i would be over jet lag by the Monday to start my new job but unfortunately no. At first everything was ok at work but as it's a brand new job the systems weren't in place yet and I was trained on a temporary system full of errors. Then they tried to train me on another system also not 100% so i felt totally overwhelmed. I had a massive panic attack at 3am Wednesday and couldn't go in. Bill took me to the Dr who prescribed some meds for my anxiety which I've always had but treated by basically running away from stressful situations. She also wants me to work with a psycologist down the track. I'm so disappointed because I really wanted to return to work at the same place. Anyway, we'll see what the new year brings when I'm hopefully back on track. Consequently I haven't been following your blog lately. Hope you're still enjoying the school. The hospital experience sounded very nice considering. Take care, stay safe and lots of hugs to you. Sylvi xo

Hope your foot will be okay!
Sorry I have not been emailing more but have been following your blogs religiously..you are a born writer! I have been loving all your descriptions of all your adventures. We are all well.Scooter Boy has been up to see his mum in Darwin who is not so good and going through chemo at present and our darling Sarah survived Schoolies, as did I ...just! Please make sure you get that foot checked out..I would hate it to spoil the rest of your trip but I must admit I did have just a tiny smile at your description of falling off...have not shared with Scooter Boy..you would never hear the end of it! Lots of love..xx

Sounds heaps better
So glad your new school is much better then the other one in SR. Hope there's a toilet you can use there anyway. Not sure I could last more then a few hours without a toilet break. I'm sure you'll be able to help Alan with improvements to the guesthouse. He won't want you to leave. Glad it's all going much better for you now and you feel more comfortable and settled. The kids at the new school will love you as much as the Aussie couple who run it. They won't want you to leave either. Could be your destiny!!! Take care, have a great week-end, hope you can relax somewhere nice. Love Sylvi xo

A great shame SR and the volunteering organisation you went to weren\'t the same pleasurable experience you had in PP, but good on you for doing something about the school. You think they\'d be falling over themselves to be nice to volunteers. Can\'t fathom it either. Hope your tummy bug doesn\'t hang around like last time. Not very nice for you especially if you\'re not having such a great time anyway. Sounds like you had a great send off in PP with friends and the students so that\'s happy memories to look back on. We\'re now back on the outskirts of London until we leave this coming Wednesday. Lots of talk about public servants striking here in the UK so hopefully it won\'t affect our flight. I\'ve kinda picked up a bug of my own and have a very sore throat which I hope won\'t develop into anything worse. I\'m taking some drugs so hope that does the trick. Must away. Take care, stay safe and hope you enjoy the new school. Sylvi xo

How horrible
That crowded bus story sounds totally horrid and you did well to hold it together. Lucky those boys distracted you. Pity one of them wasn't called Richard :) Gary contacted me the other day wanting to know when I was returning to Brisbane. He's taking some time away from BCL so I read into that he wanted me back to help run things in his absence. I've told him I won't be returning in the near future (if ever, though I didn't say that) as things will be hectic for awhile when we get home. I'm quite happy to stay in touch with the lovely ladies (and Rob) I've met from the group but have no desire to return to being a social director to people who may or may not turn up to events. He basically admitted that was why he was taking a break. Have a great week and stay strong emotionally (if you can). Sylvi xo

Waxing and de-licing on the beach :)
Glad you had another lovely week-end at Sihanoukville. Love that you can get your legs waxed on the beach which looked very crowded by your photos. I haven't had a leg wax for almost 6 months and have only shaved them twice so imagine the forest :) Those scary stories about women being taken advantage of by low life scum buckets is horrid. As you say you must always be on your guard for such scams. Very sad but true. We're looking forward to going home though once there for awhile I'm sure we'll pine to be back travelling. We're in St Ives at the moment which is totally south-west. Our camp site has a great view of the beach below and when the wind isn't blowing a gale it's a magical place to visit. I don't think I'll rejoin BCL as I'm not interested in socialising with the John Dees and Malcolms of Brisbane. I'm hoping I've met enough nice girls to form my own private contact group and we see each other once or twice a month for coffee, dinner or a movie. I'm glad Gary is still going strong with BCL and now the music group. Hope he's put on some weight too :) Must away and get breaky on. Have a fabulous last week and safe travel to SR. Love and hugs. Sylvi xo

Have a great long week-end
Hope you have as much fun in the sun as your last visit to the beach. Love the loads of long week-ends they have and it's good for you too to let you relax in between your hard work at school. Fantastic that you're doing some hospitality work for you friend. I tell you.....this may be where you're meant to be. Helping this guy run his guest house :) Love the photo of the hand holding the frangipani and i love that you get your toes done right next door to where they prepare food in the markets. What a crazy place but it all seems to work. We're in St Ives which sounds glam and it is but more so in summer when it's full of surfers. At the moment it's quite cool but not too bad. It's right down the south of the UK so we would have seen the top most in Scotland (John O Groats) and now the bottom most here (Land's End). Might stay here a few days. Take care. Have a fabulous long week-end and I hope you're last week at school is super fabulous and not too teary. Sylvi xo

What a trooper
I'm loving your photos and great to see one of you too. You're looking happy and healthy and you must be after such a trek in the sun and up stairs. Funny how there can be such beauty in a place as well as tragic sights like slums etc. Good that you've mentioned to the kids that you're leaving soon so they can get their head around it. Won't make it any easier but at least they won't be totally shocked on the day. It has gone fast hasn't it?! I hate the sound of all that corruption though. Would scare me silly. What would be the likelihood that you would return to Cambodia after the rest of your overseas trip? Could you get some formal teaching qualification and return to work at the same school? The monks and other teachers seem to be very impressed with you so I'm sure they'd be happy to have you back. Maybe the Project people could help you sus it out. Must away. It's 7 degrees this morning in Cheddar Gorge which is warmer then we thought it was going to be. I slept with thermals on last night. Are you sweating just reading that :) Take care, keep having fun, make the most of your last 2 weeks and stay safe. Hugs and kisses. Sylvi xo
