Aloha from Maui Hi Don and Diana: We are very much enjoying your travelblog. Thanks for including us. We look forward to reading about your latest adventure. We are having a wonderful time here on Maui. The weather is perfect so far. We are doing lots of walking and swimming, both in the ocean and pool.
Oh Diana, come on you can do it. If Luca and Riel can get on those motorbike taxis so can you. Its dead easy and best just keep your eyes closed so you cant watch. The kids absolutely loved it and wanted to go on more rides! You'll see its addicting. Good Luck! I hope Don can convince you. Its part of the asian experience you know LOL!
Phew..yer safe Glad to hear you are nicely settled for R and R. Enjoy. I was a bit nervous today, as I heard there was a nasty Ferry accident in Vietnam, on the radio.
Love reading your blog...and the pictures are fab. Great spot. Happy reading.

Holy Ho Chi Minh! Always a laugh... reading your blog. Yes... watch where you walk!! Ha ha ha. How are you dealing with all of the shopping ops in Saigon? It is crazy. The temperature will be much easier to handle on the beach! :-)
Amazing An amazing account of your stay in Hoi An. The food sounds delicious and I also love the lanterns. So glad you like the locals. They certainly are making you welcome. Enjoy the beach.
Hoi An fun I remember watching a water lantern festival in Hoi An.... by the Japanese Bridge. Such a great memory. Always wish that I had more time there.... as it was one of the places where I always wanted to ditch the group. If you do get bored... head to My Son... supposed to be a great day trip!! Love the pics.
What great adventures! Hello there, I look all over the forums for the accounts of your trips! I enjoy them immensely. I will be travelling to Viet Nam in October of this year and I am learning so much reading everyones tales of traveling. Thank you both for sharing, I can definately say I am a fan!
noodle mania Your blog entries are so fun to read. It's like we're right there with you. Your map seems to have come through, but is not nearly as interesting as your photos.
I wonder how many more times you'll be served instant noodles in your days ahead. Fine dining at it's best. At least it's better than eating balls I suppose.
good to hear from you I am able to get your pictures-- which is great - by the way keep meaning to ask you how the sausage roll business went -- I guess it is paying for your trip !!!!!!!!!! love to you both -- Cissy and George xoxoxoxox
Pass the salt. Gotta go for this little green apples whenever you can.
Sounds like a great trip, another Counctry for us land Lubbers to add to the list
You complain! Di............you complain. really? I say go for it and buy the jackets! Then complain when it gets hot OR you could give them to some poor needy soul.
Crossings Hi Guys,
Sounds like you're off to a good start! Diana, just don't let Don get lost, that's the real challenge! Crossing the street is easy just stick Right behind a local!
Have fun. Joyce
sooooo.... waiting to hear all about Halong Bay? Wondering if you ended up on board a boat with a bunch of drunk Aussie's!! hahaha. And wondering when Don will sneak away for a massage!!! :-)
Its making me envious even more. Having been in Asia I know what you mean about the traffic. Imagine trying to drive! Good luck with the street crossings. my motto has always been stand by the locals and cross when they cross! I am still here so it must work. I cant wait to read more blogs. Enjoy the new treats :-)
fun fun fun Journey getting there sounds like fun... but the best it yet to come. You are gonna love it.... especially all those tasty samples that Don will provide you with. Key to the traffic... just go.. walk.. and keep going. Don't run and don't turn back... just look ahead and keep walking. They will avoid you!! Off to Halong Bay before ya know it. Yaaay.
already an adventure sounds like a riot already. I cracked up at your comment about Don disappearing into stores to buy strange treats.... so Don.
Glad you're already enjoying yourselves even though you must be exhausted. Have fun.
Well, well, well, what to do, what to do? To blog or not to blog, that is the question. In July 2010 I lost my life partner and good travel buddy Don. Together we had some amazing adventures and I was pretty sure that after he died that would be the end of adventure travel for me. I just couldn't imagine tackling far flung places without him. Buuuut, you know what, my love of travel won out and I am off again.
For my first adventure without Don, I am travelling with my daughter-in-law's dad, Klaus. He lost his wife at the same time as I lost Don. India was a country he had always wanted to... full info
