A very nice trip it would appear Hi Hilary. Many of your DC shots were ones we saw about 2 months previously when we too were there. We had a great retreat last weekend in Cologne (almost 150 people) and now look forward to April in Alsace. The new UUFP location is fine for us, less grandiose to be sure. When will you be back? Hugs, Peter
Richmond Hilary! You should have said you were coming to where I live - we could have gotten together for a visit! I am glad you seem to have enjoyed the university where I went to school and my area. - Brenda
your North American trip Hi Hilary,
Great to hear about your trip. I was on the East Coast almost at the same time, also saw the fall leaves, and got out just in the nick of time. I was promoting "Joie de Vivre" - hope you'll enjoy reading it if you get a copy (it's on amazon, both in hardcover and on kindle). And if you like it and want to write a review for amazon, that's even better! Hope to see you in Paris in December. All the best, Harriet
more wow hilary, you are AMAZING! i just want you to know again what an inspiration you are!! i am so greatful that we had that rendezvous just a couple of months ago in paris and only wish i had been feeling better to join you for dinner...anyway, i look forward to our next get together....i have been in d.c. with my sister for two months but have finally convinced her to move to florida so we are heading there in just a few days...take good care and keep posting...i love it!!! xo paris
Fantastic! Your love of France and your interculturalism come shining through. Thanks for the peek into your wonderful active life in this most beautiful city.
Hi Peter,
Thanks for the nice comment. The bride was also beautiful, but the beautiful woman with Tom and me is actually his daughter-in-law and the wife of the best man (Tom's son).
See you back in Paris over the Xmas holidays. A big "hi" to everyone at UUFP!
Great familiar scenes Hi Hilary! In two weeks I'll be backpacking above Echo Lakes, and staying a night at a cabin near Fallen Leaf... and last month I visited that famous Freestone Bakery. And we know Healdsburg well. Haven't seen the Hitchcock Museum tho' You do seem to be enjoying the best of both... or should say "all"...worlds.
We'll be back in Paris for two weeks in October. Cheers
Thank you for the lovely photos... love the photos, as always.... but what I admire most is your strength and stamina... I definitely would have signed up for the "E" (easy) walks! LOL
Lake District Hi Hilary, I never had as big a breakfast as one at a bed and breakfast in the lake district. The lady served me 12 sunny side up eggs and 12 strips of bacon. I started to pass the plate around the table, and she said: Sunny, aren't you hungary, That's only for you!
Wow! All those eggs! I had the cooked breakfast "sans" eggs. Loved the homemade sausages and the wide bacon and all those cooked tomatoes and mushrooms.
Swanage, Studland - places I've never heard of. Hilary, you're really living life to the fullest!! How do you manage to stay on the road while I'm stuck
to my desk paying bills and just trying to keep up from day to day?
What an adventure you're having! Do you go back to Paris to re-group from time to time? With a new grandchild, I don't feel like going very far
away. I'm an attached grandmere. Sending love from DC, Suzy
