Hi Ellen Thanks for the positive feedback. I have left Argentina early and am now home so there won't be any more blogs until I go somewhere again. I hope that all is well with you at work and at home. I am still off work for the next two weeks- the end of my vacation- and so I am out of the loop as far as what is happening with the melon fly program. I do know that EGVM is due to close out at the end of November for the season. I will keep you posted if I know of any jobs coming up in the San Diego area.
Love reading your blogs Hi Sandy,
I love reading your blogs. Wanted you to know it is hot here also in San Diego, Been in the 90's for a week. Hope your having a great time. Take care.
Ellen
alex thank you josete. i think hre made it okayu. its his problem if he didnñt go. the hostel keyboard on the public computer is missing most of its letters. oh well, makes it a bit of a challenge. see you soon. love
Rgauy keyboard is missing mosty of its letters in tyhis hostel, makes me wish I had paid more attention to touch typing in high school
the main fault of the tfy in uruguay is that it would be guir¡te short, although you do get a free ticket to that part of the world. but Valenica although an interesting city comes with the package of the clementine orange preclearance program, which I did not find very very monitored and the spanish inspectors not exactly bubbluing over withfriendliness towards us as we tried to do our job. maybe its better now. i did get to see a lot of spain From Blog: A week in BA
Hi Sandy,
I left a message for Alex yesterday reminding him he has a court date today on Nov 1st. He never called me back but hope he made it there.
Love, Josette
BA Hey Sandy: I wish I had gone over the Uruguay but time did not permit it. There is a foreign TDY there recently for blueberry fumos. Turned it down. I really want to get the Spain assignment, but haven't seen it posted yet. I loved the cemetery (and all the cats). Did you happen to see the crypt where the young girl had been buried alive? I loved Recoleta and you're right, the stores are fantastic. My brother-in-law got himself a beautiful leather jacket and shoes there. Keep writing...I love it...really giving me the travel fever.

Argentine No, I didn´t attend the viewing. There were thousands of people queuing up in the streets to do it, and I thought I would leave them to their own and anyway it was a crazy scene, drums beating, polital groups with flags, etc. Yesterday it poured and we went to have parilla, a mixed grill. Some of the meat was recognizible, like pork chops, but some of it was strange, like coils of intestines. I ate the non weird stuff. a couople of changes: Danny has been sick since they day we got here, so we decided that the overnight bus trips I had planned were too much for him, and yesterday we went to the LAN ticket office to change our tickets to return next Tuesday. It was a shame to cut the trip short, but I couldn´t cajole him into toughing it out, and I´m not sure I wanted to, since I don´t know how he is feeling. It appeared to me as though he had the flu. On top of that he is not really mentally inclined to travel since he misses things like ice water, washing machines in the house, TV in English. Oh well, we´re all different. So today we have to check out of this hostel and go to a different one, since our room was been booked to another. The new hostel is on a pedestrian only street, so should be quiet, but if centered around a younger crowd, so may be noisier from the people. On Mondya, our last free day, we are going to take the hydrofoil to Urugruay, the town of Colonia, across the river, for the day.
Empañadas are okay, a bit dry, but fillling. We will be back Weds. pm, will call you.
Hi Sandy,
Did you attend the viewing? Sounds so Eva Peron. Have you heard that she was not buried and was kept in the palace at the time and her husband used to sit her at the table for dinner? She was attended to by a dr to keep her looking fresh. Hmm...very interesting.
Hey also I have it on my calendar to call Alex and remind him on Sunday about his court date on Monday Nov 1st.
Miss you! Is Danny having a good time also?
How is the food? Is that the home of Empinada's?
My message is short like myself (ajajajaja) but just wanted to say i am happy to hear from you, and very excited to hear you are having so much fun. We all miss you greatly hope to hear from you soon. I felt like i was their with you (very descriptive)
Love always,
julia
