Day one Today was day one of busabout. We travelled from Munich to Innsbruck. Absolutley amazing. Either side of the road were these sheer mountains, all snow capped and massive. It was such a beautiful place. We crossed the border into Austria while snaking around these mountains and arrived into Innsbruck. It is such a beatutiful place completley surround by the same sheer mountains seen when we drove there. It has a massive river (the River Inn), which is incredibly fast flowing and cold. We were staying at the Gasthoff Innsbruck, so a 2 minute walk and we were in the old town. Narrow streets, small shops, lots of sidewalk cafes and tourists. We orientated ourselves around Innsbruck for the rest of the afternoon. We saw the old ski jump that was used in the Olympics ... read more

Munich Day One We arrived into Munich and spent the first half hr or so heading in the wrong direction…of course we were! We arrived at Wombat’s hotel (which conicidently was about 200 mtrs from the train station) and checked in before heading down to the marketplatz for a guided tour. We got to where we were supposed to be, however the marketplatz was unusally busy…we had arrived in the main square of munich on the weekend of its two hundred and sixty something birthday. So we couldn’t find the tour group. We stayed here though, watching dancing, listening to music and eating crepes and gelato. So far so good! We went up the tower in the main square. 14 floors of steps is enough to make anyone appreaciate what is up the top. It was ... read more

Day Two This morning we caught the tube closer into the city for a look around before joining a free walking tour of London. Based around the Royal Family, we started at Wellington Arch and made our way along the stone walls that surround the Palace Gardens down consitution hill and through green park (so called because the Duke used to pick flowers from the park to take to his mistresses when he claimed to be going jogging, so the Queen got all flowers removed from there), before arriving at Buckingham Palace itself in time to see some of the changing of the guard. Lots of trumpeting, men in furry hats, horses, marching and way too many tourists, but no royals :( Amongst other things we also saw Spencer House, 10 Dowing St, Trafalgar Square, Pall ... read more

Well, after flying for about 22 Hrs we finally taxied into Heathrow Airport at 630 in the morning. we left Sydney on time and had a short stopover in Bankok. Our captain announced that we would be flying out of Bankok slighty late so we could fly over Afghanistan during a certain window of time. Although he didn't say it, im guessing this was so we didn't get shot down.....! Day one of London was a dizzying one..Literally! Geoff and i were so tierd that we kind of just followed our feet and kept plugging along all day. We decided to walk to the Camden Markets...im not sure about anyone else, but to me Brits suck on their interpretation of distances. 20 min walk my foot! However, we enjoyed walking through what appeared to be the ... read more
