We spent three nights in Auckland before flying on to Fiji, and back to warmer weather. Having said that, since driving North it had become increasingly warmer, and I would even describe Auckland's weather as mild, even though the 1st of June is their first official day of winter. We found a place to stay, right bang in the middle of town. This was handy to reach everywhere we needed, so there was no public transport required to get in and out of town. We dumped our stuff in the hostel, and then bid fair well to our little hire car, after almost 4000kms on the road together.
