It was a fair drive to the beginning of the West Coast, roughly 4 hours, but it seemed to take longer. Around five we arrived at a very small place called Haast. This is located at the far bottom of the West Coast. We decided to stop here for the night, rather than contiuning on the road for the next 120km to Franz Josef.
