To Juzzy, CHEERS!
To Glen and Eleanor, proud parents of Juzzy, you did a great job in organizing the celebration as everyone is having a good time and enjoying themselves.
Happy, happy birthday Juzzy How time flies. The little girl is a lady and a beautiful one at that. Happy Birthday Juzzy. Tell us what you want from the Philippines. 18 is a very special year so you get to ask for special things from here. Love you super. Wish we were there for the celebration but our prayers were with you that day. Love you mucho.
Reply to Greg Hi Greg, The quickest way to get there is to fly to Virac with Asian Spirit, get a tricycle to the Jeepney station in Virac, get a jeepney to Baras and then a tricycle to Puraran beach. This is OK if you don't have a surfboard or too much luggage, alternatively you can arrange a private trip to Puraran from the airport in a car or even a tricycle but it's a lot more expensive. Cheers, Glen
getting to Catanduanes Hey Glen,
i know this is an old blog but i am heading out to Catanduanes in two weeks and was wondering the quickest and best way to get out of Manila and to the island. any help you can give will be appreciated. great blog
thanks
greg
Beautiful I finally got to read the blog and what a great one! First of all I want to say that both of you, Glen and Eleanor look good with no glimpse of getting any older. What a great place to spend time together! The trip was full of varied activities but still restful. Kuranda reminded me of Kauai, my favorite island in Hawaii, because it is lush and green though I did not get to go to their jungle which I now regret since your pictures are beautiful. Who knows, I might go to Cairns one day. You're right; Eleanor seemed to enjoy snorkeling so we'll do it together in Davao better yet, we can all do it there! Thanks for sharing, LOVE IT!
Wow! Hello Glen (and Eleanor). What a beautiful time off from your cold winter, and at the same time, enjoying each other once again. I always like your travel blogs, Glen. Pictures are always great and your blogs are very descriptive - so descriptive that I'd want to visit these places next time I am in your part of the world. Take care.
Cairns - our next destination in Australia I like your photos Glen, specially the diving one. So who took that photo? The sites of Cairns is so impressive. So can I ask how much in total (approximately) did it cost you for the trip (excluding the airfare)?
comment on the Cairns trip Gidday Glen and Eleanor great blog. You have the gift of the gab.
Looking forward to Cairns ourselves. Lots of love . Thinking of painting the photo titled Looking for Crocs Chris
Nice trip! You all seem to have enjoyed a great time at Nelson Bay. For the sot of the accommodation, I would say that is realy "Value for Money".
Glen, I have updated my travel blog so you can visit the site now.
must see in the phils! hello! it's nice to know you've taken so much to time just to see our contry :) if you want to go surfing, the best place to go is siargao island (in surigao, mindanao) or san juan, la union (northern luzon, near san fabian and zambales). there are also good surfing spots in zambales and quezon. i believe you can find waves until april :) if you like to just laze around the beach, i would strongly recommend boracay, panglao island in bohol, pagudpud in ilocos norte, just to name a few. i hope you enjoy your visit. filipinos are very friendly and are always willing to help you out if you have any questions. and i do hope you spread the word around that the philippines is a beautiful country that's worth visiting :) thanks!
Happy Birthday Wow! Now that is what I call, "living it up!" Happy Birthday my dear. You obviously had a great time and both you and Eleanor deserve it. I just got to thinking that when you know you can leave the kids behind - maaan, they are older - and yes, you are older too (he, he, he). Hope you reconsider joining Eleanor in December when she comes to the Philippines. Take care and once again, all the best for your birthday.
Great Trip Thanks for sharing your trip back home. Came to California from P.I. in 1982. Place must be great now. I surf as much as I can, all year long (freezing cold during winter months). Man, it must be awesome surfing in the P.I. with that warm water. Well, anyway thanks for sharing..really had a great time reading this. take care.
In love with Marinduque I fell in love with this beautiful island, and went there on week ends and vacations as much as I could. people in Marinduqye are juste great people, and even though I almost died from food poisoning, I am still dreaming of going back there. But I moved to France, so won't be just on a week end...
My blog shows some other destinations, in the Philippines and other countries, check it out!

Australia here I come! Oh man!!! What a beautiful trip to Hunter Valley. Makes me want to spend January there sometime - perhaps the year after next. Hmmmm.
RORO Ferry I was with my wife's family who all speak Tagalog and it was confusing even for them. We had to go to various people on the wharf to try and organise a ticket. I think it's easier if you can get a bus from Manila to Marinduque, this should include the RORO Ferry component.
RoRo Do you have info on how the queue system goes, and what fees to pay? I'm planning to travel by car to Marinduque and dont know what to expect. Thanks.
on your Puraran trip Hmmm, you captured beautiful pictures of the area. When I was there last May, the Majestics Resort was just being built and now it is finished and in operation. Wow, they really do have cheap accomodation and that includes food, too.
I am glad that you had a great surfing experience. Hope to bump into you on your next trip to the island.
hello hey glen,do you remember meeh from baras im dat drive the motorcycle from zhongsen the blue one right, hey can you say hi to my couzin kuya elvis and to albert. thank you
my is eldon they should know meeh
Qantas Flight I had the same experience too with Qantas. Flight being cancelled and the staff was not very helpful. I think that Qantas should make a way to inform all their passengers if they are cancelling a flight!!! How inconvenient! I travelled on Philippine Airlines before and when they had a scheduled change of flight, i received a call from the airline!! I wouldnt blame the travel agent. As, the airlines tell us not to reconfirm flights, and this happens when we dont! Anyway, i hope you had a good trip to the Philippines to at least look back to... Ta!
Holiday Looks like you are having a really exciting holiday. Are any of the recent photos from the new Camera ? Loved the Sunset Picture.
Eleanor-you are now 45 in Upstream Footy Comp.
nice comment!! well, what can i say im proud to live in daet, and u know what i appreciate u for making this blog..i hope people will come to our place and enjoy the beach...enweiz there was a surfing competition held last saturday...enjoy ur stay...
Easter message Dude
I just realised you could add a comment. I googled your name ( not much on tv at the moment) and I read the comments others have been submitting. If you've been getting my e-mails to mum you will know that the landscaping is finished. We are pleased with the job and it came in pretty well on budget. It's Jockey's 21st tomorrow night. We had the family tea last night and Hima came over. Her parents cooked a special lunch for him and gave him a nice pen. Tomorrow night looks like being cold with the chance of a shower, so we hoping that the rain will stay away. I've purchased a patio heater whicn works very well. It was going to cost $144 to hire and I bought it for $169. One of the guys from work rang me late yesterday and said that he'd heard a rumour that John was selling JLC to another company. I'll ring John on Tuesday to check it out. I've been very busy the last month doing an average of 6-7 houses a day. I tried to ring you last night but couldn't get through.
Sounds like your having a great time. Plenty of good food, wine and San migs. For Jervis' party of gone for a combo of Becks(Jockys choice), Crownies, carlton and vbs. For the wine drinkers i've got traminer reisling. Spirit drinkers will have to bring their own. If anyone requests a red I've got a good cleanskin from Dan Murphy's a 2001 Victorian Shiraz. We're expecting about 70 people all up.
Thats about all the news. I will try to ring again soon.
Cheers
Dude.
Your Highness! What is this, some kind of "Royal Treatment!" Hey Glen, you really had it made! This is what I call a true vacation!!! I need one so badly!!!!
Anyway, I'm glad that your family is with you already. Still a lot of places to
see and enjoy. . . Anyway, I have your confirmation nos. for Fort Ilocandia.
Will try and call you guys Easter Sunday at Mom's house. In the meantime, continue and explore Marinduque. . .
Isa pa nga On ya Mike! What a way to land in the Philippines and get your first taste of the world famous San Miguel Beer. Make sure to bring back in the Shire some San Migs. It is nice seeing the photos. Hope to see more of your sojourn Glen, specially in Marinduque. A photo of the Paras ancestral home (Kapitan Peruco Mansion) would be great. I have not seen it for mote than 15 years.
Hi, I live in "The Shire' a group of suburbs about 25km south of the Sydney CBD. I'm married with two kids (young adults now) and work in the IT services industry. I love travelling especially to tropical locations with palm trees and white sand beaches. I enjoy good food, good wine and good company.... full info
